Established in 1897, Lagarde is one of the oldest wine bodegas in the Luján de Cuyo district of Mendoza. It produces grape varieties such as cabernet sauvignon, malbec and semillón. Lagarde was also a pioneer in Latin America in harvesting viognier and moscato bianco, grapes often used for sparkling wines. The winery has a storage capacity of about 500,000 gallons (2,000,000 litres) and produces over 300,000 gallons (1,000,000 litres) of wine each year.
