I am pleased you enjoyed your stay at Lacanau, but I'm sorry that you feel you made the wrong choice of holiday home and that my cottage fell short of your expectations and was not your ideal. A full maintenance programme is always carried out at the end of the season and thank you for bringing matters that need to be addressed to my attention. I would like to comment on a couple of points of detail in your feedback. The description of Cottage 2 states that there is a washer/dryer. This is indeed the case: it has both a washing and a tumble dryer facility and the instruction booklet is there. Also the fact that linen is available to hire is also mentioned. To make it clearer, I have changed the wording so that it now reads, 'bed linen and towels are available to hire.' Tea-towels are usually found in the dresser, but as there is a dishwasher many people don't use one. If guests are not bringing their own bedlinen and towels, they request them either when they make their original booking or when they make arrangements for their arrival with the caretaker. In this particular case no request had been made. I received an email request late morning and the bedding and towels were provided in the afternoon. I always give my phone number to guests as well as the caretakers, so that in the event of a problem arising they have our contact details for the matter to be quickly and effectively resolved. I suggest that if guests speak English they phone me and if they speak French they phone the caretaker.
