I didn’t really appreciate that this was a Budget Ibis although the price should have given me a clue, so that’s my mistake. It was very basic. The rooms were cramped and the bathroom similar to what you’d find in a ferry. It was a weekend so the restaurant nearby was closed which means we had to go in search of dinner. On the plus side the bedlinens were crisp cotton, the bed comfortable, the price very low and the check-in and check-out staff friendly and efficient.

The location is outstanding very close to a magnificent beach and only 5 mins by bicycle to the town which has an excellent market especially for fish.
A bicycle is essential travel on Isle de Re and great fun.
The rooms are quite amazing and very intimate indeed.
The restaurant which is shared with a sister hotel is of a very high standard as is the Ocean restaurant in the town,so good dining alround.
Heated pools a bonus.
