Great family room. Comfy beds. Lovely breakfast and helpful staff.

Attention to detail. Comfortable beds. Spotless

We arrived late and were greeted with a friendly welcome. We also had to leave early in the morning and staff made the check in an out process quick and easy. The beds were a welcome comfort after a long flight.

Perfect first night hotel after a long flight. The hotel arranged an airport pick up for us. The room was very comfortable. All the staff were friendly & helpful. Food at the restaurant was great and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly staff, room was clean and spacious, perfect for our first night in Costa Rica. We ate in the restaurant which had really good quality, fresh food.

What a wonderful start to our holiday in Costa Rica! The Cariari is a lovely, comfortable place to stay, and Laurie is the most welcoming host we have ever stayed with. She gave us a glass of wine and snack in the evening, and chatted with us for 20 minutes. She also sat with us and the other guests at breakfast. So helpful to get so much information and recommendations about Costa Rica at the start of our holiday. Miriam was friendly and caring too - and prepared a delicious breakfast for the...

Stayed here after an adventure portion of our trip and found it to be a great relaxation spot. Sprawling pool with amazing views of the valley and our room had a good-sized patio to unwind at. The rooms (at least the one we stayed in) are all offshoots from a gorgeous atrium-like structure with a fountain and a fireplace for cooler months.

We really enjoyed our 1 night stay here, the staff were without exception friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant, food was lovely, however I thought a little pricey. Breakfast was excellent and included. Trip to airport is approx $40 dollars but feel it was worth staying a bit further away from airport to be in such lovely surroundings. Highly recommended.

A fantastic location just outside San Jose, which made for a superb location first few days in Costa Rico. Close to Poas volcanoe La Paz waterfalls and the fantastic Cinchona waterfall trails. Staff absolutely first class; warm welcome and extremely helpful. One bag failed to arrive with oyr party - staff so helpful to ensure airline delivered to chalets within 36 hours.

Great customer service, delicious breakfast, good laundry service and also nice pool

A picturesque, classy and characterful hotel. We found the lovingly restored building and grounds very charming and relaxing. The location is near good shops, eating options (although the hotel food was also excellent) and amenities, yet tucked away on a nice breezy hill overlooking the city. Super welcoming and homely atmosphere. We will be back!

We wanted a kitchen and for that it was good. The breakfast was a cold buffet where elsewhere in Costa Rica you get a good cooked breakfast, but we had the kitchen. I'd stay again
