"The place is very nice and clean, however we felt a little bit scammed for the price of the food which is over European standard. They only have one choice and asked 20$ for it and you really don’t have other options in the area. They let you pay also the water…the road to come is very bad also. I’d not stay again"

"The bungalow was nice, spacious, especially the terrace overlooking the mountain forest was beautiful. The food was good and we also appreciated a good bottle of wine with dinner. It also has the advantage of being just minutes from the main gate to the national park (Rushaga Gate). The place is harder to find though, more signage would be appreciated. "

"My stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge was wonderful. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the gardens and properties are beautiful with views overlooking the forest (including the mountain where we did our gorilla trek!). The restaurant area sits atop a hill overlooking a valley with 360 views of the mountains and scenery. The entire property is very peaceful and the restaurant served a three-course meal every evening. The rooms were clean with little welcoming touches when we arrived....

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kyesero?
The best area to stay in Kyesero is generally around the town centre, particularly near the main market and the roads leading to popular attractions.

This central area is the most developed part of Kyesero, offering the easiest access to local amenities and transport links. You'll find a concentration of guesthouses, local eateries, and shops here. The main market is a focal point, and the roads connecting to areas like the Kyesero Falls are well-known.

For solo travellers, staying close to the town centre provides convenience and a sense of being connected to the local life. It's easy to find transport for day trips, and there are more options for dining and picking up essentials.

Couples looking for a comfortable base for exploration will also find the central area suitable.
When is the best time to go to Kyesero?
The best time to visit Kyesero is during the long dry season, which runs from June to September, or the short dry season, from December to February.

During these months, the weather is generally warm and sunny with minimal rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities like exploring the area's natural beauty or visiting the local markets. The roads are also in better condition for travel, which is a significant advantage in this region.

For those interested in wildlife viewing, particularly around the nearby Queen Elizabeth National Park, the dry seasons are especially good. Animals tend to congregate around water sources, making them easier to spot. This period is also great for boat safaris on the Kazinga Channel, offering excellent photographic opportunities.

Travellers looking for a comfortable and convenient experience will appreciate the dry season.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?

Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Kyesero.
How much is the nightly rate at a Kyesero hotel?
Prices for hotels in Kyesero often vary, but you can find a great deal from £19 on Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for the cheapest rate.
