We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Krone. The hotel was exceptionally clean, modern, and very well maintained. Everything felt fresh, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Check-in and check-out were both quick and completely hassle-free, which made the whole experience even better.
The staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful whenever we needed anything. Their hospitality really stood out and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.
Overall, Hotel Krone exceeded our expectations. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, modern, comfortable hotel with excellent service. We would happily stay here again!

Gorgeous rooms with a great view! Mini kitchen was so wonderful - clean and modern. The self check-in is a great idea, but I can see where some people may find it confusing. Also, watch your head - low ceilings. But overall one of the best stays yet!

This historic hotel is located in the heart of Appenzell and has a lovely restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. It is a short walk from the train station, is clean and charming and rooms have comfortable beds and bedding. The included breakfast is plentiful and delicious with good coffee :) The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating - when we had to check out very early at the end of our stay, they packed us a delicious lunch to take with us on the train the night before we left since we would miss the morning breakfast. Travellers should note that there is no AC due to preservation rules for all hotels/historic buildings in Appenzell - when we came there was a heat wave so it was unusually hot, but we opened our windows at night and it cooled our room off enough so we could sleep. We highly recommend Gasthaus Hof!
