The ambiente reminds me of the '80s. It smells old, the rooms are poorly ventilated, and I was disappointed when I arrived. This was my first time at the Scandic-Kristiansund. I loved it so much I signed up for their loyalty program. This hotel is a real gem starting with the front desk employees who really care to the incredible bedroom views to a spectacular breakfast. The receptionists were both very helpful and friendly. There was a dry sauna which overlooking the beautiful scenery but we didn’t get to use it. The rooms are nowhere near the standard of other scandic hotels I stayed in on this trip. The walls are very thin and you can hear the people in the room next door (who were very noisy). But the parking system is terrible. I asked about 3 weeks ahead for parking and was told that you could just show up and that they don't have a reservation system. When we show up, it's of course full, so we had to try to find some parking elsewhere on the streets of town.
