"Pleasantly surprised with this wonderful lodge. Very clean and cozy cottages. Immaculately manicured grounds. Beautiful sunset views of the bay. An easy walk to the beach. Could certainly benefit with a fan in each bedroom though to mitigate the lack of air conditioning. A cheap investment that would make a lot of difference. "

"This is not “Wonderful “ as advertised. It has not been looked after with dirty old chairs and sunbeds, and unkept pool area and ground There are dogs on site, which came into the food eating area several times. The owner removed them but didn’t control their return. The photos of the room was very misleading in the size.."

"Cecil and Colleen who were our hosts were so friendly and helpful, and our Premier Room's sea view from our room and private balcony was superb. Breakfasts were so enjoyable, with a good choice of cold and cooked food. Parking was also great and secure."

"Jeffrey was excellant. The swimming pool was clean and beautifully located. Under new management i did feel there was no one around when there was a problem. It needed someone on sight to sort things out. The standard rooms were also on the small side. We thought we had booked a bungalow. "

"Beautiful spacious room with fabulous balcony view. Breakfasts were fabulous. Our host Kevin, was wonderfully gracious and attentive. He prooved to be a wonderful source of information with superb recommendations of things to do in the area. We had a glorious stay!"

"My husband and I were so looking forward to finally staying here. We come to South Africa yearly and stay for a couple months bc he is from here and we treated ourselves for my 40th birthday. However; we were super disappointed with this hotel. Our room needed maintenance and smelled of mildew, there was construction going on in the room next door and also right outside our patio the whole time, (I thought this would be a peaceful nature retreat) there was no ac, we weren’t allowed to use the bathtub or outdoor heated jacuzzi bc there was a drought (main reason I booked this hotel) the staff was always on their phones, we were told the restaurant was all booked up the day we arrived so we had to do room service which only starts at 6 pm and serves pizza or pasta?! The towels in the room all smelled of gasoline and manure, the list goes on! I’m not one to write a negative review but we paid over $300/night at this “luxury” hotel which is a lot in South Africa and this place was just not worth it at all. "

"Lovely place to stay in central knysna , impressive wooden atrium, polite staff and helpful as we stayed an extra night with a discount. Down side no lifts so not suitable for people with mobility issues "
