Very clean and welcoming

Everything about Rockliffe is exceptional, and it's the same every time we visit. But what really sets this place apart is the service you receive from every member of staff. Warm, welcoming, helpful, but never 'uptight' or pompous, just perfect! Well done, all!

Just two nights at this perfectly located hotel with mature lovely gardens and country house features. Very convenient for Ullswater lake and walks. The staff were very helpful and attentive. We could not fault the reception, bar and dinning room team, they were great. The room we had was spacious and clean, with decoration and furniture in keeping with an old country house. The breakfasts and evening dinners were well presented and of high quality. Although we are retired, we could see the hotel as an excellent wedding venue. Overall, great value and we appreciated the unique and wonderful setting.

Pleasant stay. Breakfast could be better

Accommodation was satisfactory but the noise from other residents throughout the night was awful. In our room on the ground floor, you could hear every footstep and every word - the walls were paper thin.
