The property is well designed but a bit tired and in need of improvement beyond just painting. The hotel charges a premium for a view. That view is southern-exposure and the large windows generate a lot of passive solar heat in the room - great for winter, but the windows barely open to ventilate heat and the room air conditioner did not work at all. The shower is great but the water did not drain and would pool at the basin up to six inches. Later the front desk said none of air conditioners them chill the air and that they were not needed until recently because of "climate change". Sorry - these rooms would have always generated a lot of solar heat. Also, if the windows are open the occupant has to listen to the guests outside enjoying the terrace at night. It is not acceptable to withhold climate control from the occupants. As to the view - you need to close the curtains to keep the sun from heating up the room. At check out, the front desk really didn't seem to appreciate that our experience was unpleasant. We actually live in the area and expect to invite guests, but we will not recommend the hotel. I would recommend to others not to choose the "view" option. On a plus side for the hotel, the breakfast is excellent and professional.
