Home Lea, Docking, Norfolk

Home Lea is a wonderfully quirky brick and flint cottage with charming irregular shaped rooms. Located on a quiet lane in the village of Docking, this superb hideaway is just a ten minute drive from the wonderful beach at Brancaster, and a short walk from a very popular Michelin star restaurant.

This fresh, comfortable and truly unique cottage is tucked back from the main village street. With quality bed linens, a well-equipped kitchen and a welcoming, friendly feel, the cottage makes your stay bright and sunny. Calming neutral hues with splashes of colour and nautical décor help you relax and unwind after days exploring the nearby coast and countryside.

The ground floor has a dual aspect dining room with oak dining table and benches, a well-equipped kitchen, and a bright sitting room with two settees and cosy wood burning stove. There's a rear lobby for storing coats and boots, and a bath with shower over in the ‘triangular' bathroom.

Upstairs, the bright and comfortable accommodation sleeps up to five in a master bedroom, twin bedroom, and single bedroom, all with quality linens, comfortable beds and storage for clothes. Outside, to the side of the property, there is a small enclosed courtyard area with bistro table.

This superb hideaway is just a ten minute drive from the wonderful beach at Brancaster, and a short walk from all the amenities the village has to offer. The advantage of Docking is that it is very central meaning you're just ten minutes from the coast, HM The King's Sandringham Estate, several nature reserves, Norfolk Lavender fields, Burnham Market and many more attractions in all directions. The village has a good pub, a Michelin star restaurant, great shop, and fish 'n' chip shop, meaning you still have all these conveniences within walking distance.

lovely cottage

Very nice week - wouldn't say it was dog friendly when they are not allowed upstairs or on sofa though. That made things a bit stressful at points.

Norfolk stay

We love Norfolk and the location of the property was fab however the property itself wasn’t as clean as we had hoped. The towels provided were dirty, cutlery not clean and the floors were not clean either. The fans in the bedrooms were also very noisy. One was plugged with tissue so don’t think it was used. We were told we couldn’t check in until 4pm due to a deep clean but it was apparent the cottage had not been deep cleaned. Therefore it did not fill us with confidence that it was COVID safe.
