Top King Mountain State Recreation Site Hotel Reviews
The Pioneer Motel
10/10 Excellent
"I had 5 days off from work and just wanted a place to catch up on rest after 2 months on the road. My criteria: clean, quiet and comfortable. Pioneer Motel exceeded all 3. The property is older but you can tell has been updated recently. The appliances in my kitchenette looked unused. Beds were really comfortable. Staff was friendly and attentive. Hotel had some charm. I’d definitely stay again."
"Great place to get away! Spent one night here on July 28th the finale night of a 11 day trip. My wife loved seeing Moose on the property both in the evening and the following morning not far from our Cabin.
The area around the property is beautiful with several Activities close by. Would recommend this spot to Families and couples, we stayed in the one bedroom unit and it fit our needs perfectly.

Mountain-View Retreat: Pond, Kayaks, Fire Pit, Hot Tub – Palmer, Alaska
10/10 Excellent
"Very clean and homey. Host was excellent and communicative. Would recommend to anyone. Kitchen is well equipped and beds are very comfortable. Kids loved the pool table !"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our cabin stay after a hectic week on a cruise ship. The cabin was well appointed with everything you need in a very peaceful setting. We had morning coffee looking out into the woods for wildlife (watched a rabbit). It is a great location for going to the Manatuska Glacier or visiting Palmer and the Reindeer Farm."
"Host was great. The house was perfect for our big family and the view was amazing. Did have a minor issue with hot water on our last night but the host was very accommodating."
"We were on family vacation, so we had 5 adults. there was plenty of room for all of us to sleep and just hang out. They had a very nice setup space outside, beautiful view of the mountains across the way, but because of all the rain we did not get to hang out there much. The place is up in the woods so if you like that that would be a perfect place for you. We wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle. It was about a 10 - 15 minute drive to the town area. We did not mind. We are from Long Island and really enjoyed the quiet up there. We actually saw a moose crossing the street our first day on the way to the home. That was exciting to us. We did not see any bears but we did see a bunch or Turkeys as well. Thanks go out to Jonathan our host for being very helpful with things to do and answering any of our questions that we had right away. If we go back to the Anchorage area we would stay at the Mountain House Again."
