A great open floor plan for beach lovers, fishers, surfers and families. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner with oceanfront views in the newly renovated kitchen. Two of the three bedrooms and the living room are oceanfront. The kitchen and dining area lead out onto an oceanfront deck. The deck offers great sunshine in the morning and in the afternoon a shady break from the sun’s rays. Perfect for parents seeking to enjoy the beach and solitude of their kid's afternoon nap (after wearing themselves ragged from a morning on the beach) while sitting on a oceanfront deck with a baby monitor, reading a book, sipping a drink and listening to the waves. Walk to Chilipeppers, Avalon Pier, or Awful Arthurs for dinner, drinks or both! Avalon Pier (just a short walk on the beach from the house) also has a fun arcade for the kids. Visit the Wright Brothers National Memorial (just a short drive) and see where the first flight took place. Drive to one of the lighthouses or as many as you can cram into your trip! Currituck Beach Lighthouse - 60 min drive, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse - 60 min drive, Bodie Island Lighthouse - 20 min drive (if you go to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, you’ll drive right by Bodie), Ocracoke Island Lighthouse - 70 min drive + ferry ride + 15 min drive, Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse - 15 mins. The North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island is just 15 mins away and has an amazing sea turtle exhibit, jellyfish exhibit and a great shark tank! There’s plenty to do in Kill Devil Hills, from family-friendly putt-putt golf to late-night bands and DJ's (Outer Banks Brewing Station & Jack Brown’s). Be sure and watch a sunset from Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head (just 10 mins away) or at least stop by and climb up the East Coast’s largest living sand dune for ocean to sound views! Eat a Mahi-Mahi BLT from Blue Moon in Nags Head and stop in I Got Your Crabs in Kitty Hawk or O'neal's Sea Harvest in Wanchese for fresh off the boat seafood. If you like Avalon Pier, take a drive and visit all the oceanfront pier bars. Each one with its own unique flavor - Captain Andy’s Tiki Bar at Nags Head Fishing Pier and Fishheads at Outer Banks Fishing Pier (locals hint: go on a live music night). This rental has lots of room for multiple activities. Good Vibrations features large open living spaces with unobstructed ocean views from the main living room, kitchen and dining room table. On those rare rainy days, you can watch a movie with the family and still enjoy great views of the beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Smart TV in living room so you can connect to all your favorite streaming services. An adjoining second living room has additional seating. We have central HVAC in the house and a separate mini-split units for the upstairs bedrooms/bathroom. The main level primary bedroom (king bed) offers privacy with two second-floor bedrooms enjoying direct views of the ocean. The two oceanfront bedrooms are connected by a bathroom. Each bedroom has a flat-screen tv with cable. One oceanfront bedroom has a queen bed. The other oceanfront bedroom has a king bed and a bunk bed. High-Speed WiFi access is available throughout the house and oceanfront deck for some devices. Our home is smoke-free. A foot wash and outdoor shower is available at the bottom of the stairs to the oceanfront deck to rinse the sand. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, dishes, etc. Also toaster, coffee machine (filters provided), waffle iron, crockpot, seafood cooking pot, shrimp deveiner, crab crackers. ! An open floor plan allows for the cooks of the family to not be stuck in the kitchen alone and stay in the action. There are stairs to access the house or a small wooden walkway with 6 steps that lead to the side of the house and an oceanfront deck. A small storage area is located under the stairs inside the house that fits any beach, surf or fishing gear you may want to store inside. Check-out is 9 a.m. Check-in time is 4 p.m. Rental rates include bed linens and bath towel rental. Please note that beds are not made upon check-in. Linens will be in the bag provided by linen rental company.An Accidental Property Damage Insurance Policy is required in lieu of a security deposit. Travel Insurance is recommended and required, however, the tenant may opt-out during the rental process. If you do not purchase travel insurance, you will NOT be refunded any money due to a mandatory evacuation. This home is pet friendly. This home is clean, roomy, well-stocked, and is right on the ocean with its own path over the dunes to the beach. It has a lovely updated covered deck and is everything my family could want, with comfy beds and plenty of seating. The home itself is on a quiet, almost rustic-feeling residential street, and yet shopping and restaurants are within easy driving distance. We absolutely loved our stay at Good Vibrations. It was a perfect location on the beach. The house was clean with comfortable beds and furniture. The kitchen was spacious and provided everything we needed when dining in. We appreciated having shops and restaurants in close proximity to the house. It all made for a special family vacation. I have rented it every year since the sale and take a group of USNA fellow grads golfing. Looked just like the pictures. Was clean and very well equipped. We had no issues so we did not need to reach out to property manager. Loved the house and the views. Well stocked with everything needed to cook and enjoy being there. Close to lots of activities. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if we came back to this area! Couple of maintenance issues for owners: Upstairs king room with bunk bed - the bottom of the dresser is splitting at the drawer and will break soon if not repaired. The porch has a latched gate so our dog was safe with us when we were outside. Waves were great. Like Lake Michigan. Hard to kayak- great to surf. Kitchen well appointed. Great views from living room and kitchen. Master bed has no view- didn’t matter at all. Got up at 6am to see the sunrise each day. Overall great stay. ##### caprice M. The house was clean and well cared for. This was the most well-appointed kitchen I’ve ever experienced with a rental. Had absolutely everything we needed. Ample towels. Great views. Couldn’t be any closer to the ocean without being in it. Anyone that had a negative comment just didn’t have realistic expectations for a beach front rental. The location makes up for any shortcomings in the house itself. We loved it. I would note 2 things before renting. 1\. The thermostat will not allow the general AC to go below 72\. 2\. The showers are about 6'6" total. If you are tall you are going to feel cramped. ##### Jeffrey E. Don’t let the rustic charm fool you, the property is immaculately kept and perfectly clean. I work in the hospitality business and have very high standards for cleanliness and I felt at home here. Sarah was extremely responsive, the kids enjoyed walking to the pier and using the arcade, we walked to dinner and coffee from this great location. I recommend taking a drive south along the coast for more restaurants if you haven’t been here before, but we also went to Duck for shopping and dinner at The Blue Point. Weather was disrupted by a hurricane, but we had access to lots of games and the family room was easily able to accommodate five of us for monopoly! Very open and spacious with views of the ocean out almost every window. It was even prettier than the pictures on the listing! You step off the back deck onto the sand. It’s a prefect spot to relax and take in the ocean views. The sunrise was beautiful. If you are willing to be up early you can catch the dolphins swimming near the shore. The rental itself was as listed. We knew exactly what to expect for amenities and packed accordingly. Check in was simple and easy. Jockeys Ridge was one of our favorite spots nearby. The sand dunes and sound access were a perfect spot for skim boarding, fishing, and bird watching! Highly recommend Good Vibrations for a beach getaway! ##### Courtney R. Cons: We found a bloody pillowcase that had been placed back on the bed when they made it, I had to vacuum the mattress before making the bed because it was covered in bugs, 4 days in we found the moldy still wet rugs that they left in the dryer, we had to wash every cup we pulled out of the cupboard, every blanket had a stain on it, the slider was way too difficult to open, the upstairs floor makes SO MUCH NOISE when anyone is walking upstairs, right next to public beach access, fridge smelled so bad, washing machine smelled really bad, there are no visible stairs or shower platform due to sand build up. Pros: great location to beach, stores, and all restaurants, comfortable furniture, basic items were present at check in, easy check in, Sarah was responsive and great. If they got a better cleaning crew, we would return. ##### Melissa L. It was clean with beautiful views of the ocean through most of the windows. I do agree with other reviewers, it was difficult to get up the sand steps to the beach. Wooden steps would help with that. I was grateful for the new handrail though, as it saved me once from tumbling down. The kitchen is beautiful and very well stocked! A few more kitchen towels would've been nice, only had 2\. The dishwasher, however, did not clean well. We had to wash everything by hand, but it wasn't a deal breaker. The soap dispenser didn't release, but you can place the pod on the bottom for better cleaning. Washer and dryer worked very well. Also, when we checked in, the A/C was not on. It took 24 hours to get the temp comfortable as it was a very hot day. I suggest cooling it for incoming guests prior to their arrival. The shortcomings of this beach house were made up with being in a wonderful location to the beach, restaurants, and stores and anything you may need. I would recommend staying here and would love to go back! ##### Robin B.
