This tastefully updated 4-bedroom, 2 bath cottage has everything beach lovers need for a great vacation in a central locale on the Beach Road in Kill Devil Hills. A perfect launching point for your adventures right across the street from the oceanfront and less than a 2 minute (430 feet) walk to the public beach access on Martin's Street. The entry-level laundry inside laundry area leads upstairs to the first level with two queen bedrooms, one bedroom with bunk beds and a single bed, one full bathroom, and a living area with a TV and deck access with stairs to the driveway. . The top level has ocean views from the living area and the deck, one queen bedroom, and one full bathroom that can be accessed from the bedroom or from the living area. The kitchen features granite countertops, a separate cooktop with four burners, and a built-in grill. Best of all, guests can simply step outside to the top level deck anytime for sea breezes or to take in a view of the ocean. We offer two options for outdoor grilling - charcoal or gas. Both outdoors on the ground level. We are located directly next to the popular local hang-out, the Bonzer Shack, that offers yummy coastal food and fun outdoor music. It's also just a 1-2-minute walk to Dare Devil's Pizzeria and Food Dudes Kitchen and a 5-10-minute walk to The Pit Surf Shop, CVS, Kill Devil Burgers, Five Guys Burgers, JK's Restaurant, Fuji Japanese Steakhouse, Starbucks. and other shops and restaurants. You are right in the heart of town on the oceanfront, so in season there will be activity all around! Additional rules - PLEASE READ! Dogs welcome - 2 maximum - with prior approval and an additional fee. Guests must get approval and provide details on pets in advance. The Pet fee does NOT include any additional cleaning required due to pets. \*Please clean up after your pet. \* Do not allow them one our furniture or beds. (Or bring a blanket from home and leave no trace. :) \*Do not leave pets alone unattended or uncrated for long periods of time. (We have a medium size crate set up in the dining room for your use as well as baby gates that can be used to keep them contained to one area.) \* All dogs must be up to date on flea meds, well socialized, and FRIENDLY to strangers if we have to access the house. \*If your dog is a "shedder" please keep up on the dog hair and vacuum on a daily basis or clean up before check-out. Guests not bringing pets/non-pet owners - this is a pet friendly home and therefore may not be suitable for guests with allergies to dogs . Parties and undisclosed overnight guests will NOT be tolerated. We are literally your neighbors and live just a couple miles away. We are super laid back, but expect that you will respect our space and the rules. If you use the grill, please clean it for the next guest. Our cleaners do NOT clean grills. If you use the last of the propane, please exchange it. if you are using the charcoal grill you must buy the charcoal. We do not have trash rollout or rollback service. Guests are responsible for rolling out and rolling back trash carts on the designated days. We supply the first roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and one roll of paper towels to get guests started. Further paper product needs are the guests' responsibility. Please leave the space as you found it within reason. We will ask you to take out the trash, start the laundry with dirty towels and run the dishwasher and wash the dishes before you check out. Please don't book if you feel this is not appropriate. If you break something please replace it or let us know ahead of time so that we can be pro-active for the next guests. The house was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described—maybe even better. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay, including a well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and plenty of space to unwind. The location was perfect—close to the beach, great restaurants, and local attractions, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. This home was perfect in every way! From being stocked with dishes, glassware, pots, pans, many utensils and Kitchen Appliances. The beach access was across the street. Beach chairs and a wagon were also available. My boys loved the outdoor shower and their “private deck” on their floor. Board games and cornhole were a hit! Lots to walk to! The central OBX location is close to most major attractions including jockey’s ridge, putt putt, and great restaurants. Plus, the house is right across the street from the Martin street beach access—no need to worry about parking! If you don’t want one of the giant 30 bedroom oceanfront monstrosities (and all the cost), but you want something nicer than a run down beach shack, this house is in the sweet spot. The kitchen and bathrooms are fully updated and upgraded, the furniture is new and comfortable, and the beds are high end comfortable mattresses. Plus there is a nice view of the ocean from the top floor balcony. If you’re worried about noise from the bar/restaurant next door, I wouldn’t. It closes at 10pm and never caused any problems. But I would recommend their painkiller with homemade allspice dram and the family-friendly sand patio. Thanks for the great trip! ##### Andrew E. Love this time of year when it’s not too crowded. Booked the house for the location, semi-ocean view and that it had great reviews so I was somewhat dismayed by a few things. The house is on an extremely loud road, even for off season. It would be to have a back yard option with some nice Adirondack chairs, maybe a fire pit and even a small deck. I hadn’t thought about having to climb the stairs so often but since the kitchen is on the top floor it made for quite the leg workout! The kitchen was well equipped. Had a small issue with the refrigerator and the cabinets could use some WD-40\. The fan on the second floor did not work and the lighting in the bedrooms is very dim. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Hopefully the owners addressed some issues with stains on the rugs, couches and beds. They were very responsive when we let them know our concerns. ##### Kelly N. The cottage was nicely furnished with all the things a family needs. It was clean and ready on time. Hosts were available and communication was excellent. Across the street from public access and close to so much good food, drinks and activities. Greg and Annette were wonderful hosts as well! They were very responsive and helpful.
