All of our boutique rentals feature: •Linens + Bath Towels •Charcoal Grill •Private Outdoor Shower We are passionate about the beach, coastal living and the opportunity to share the lifestyle we love so much with our guests. Our "Salt Box" style beach bungalow was built in 1982, is 950 square feet and features a loft. It sits on a private cut of property in a safe cul de sac with mostly year round residents. The space is ideal for: • Couples • Small active families or groups of friends • 5 people comfortably, 6 people if ya'll get along well Since we have had the Bungalow we have completed a lot of upgrades to the home that many of our guests love. The large outdoor shower with an oversized rain-shower head is highly refreshing on hot summer days and feels amazing after the beach. On the right days and at the right times, the french doors open up completely to the front deck which adds an airy flow and the feel of and indoor-outdoor living space. The kitchen was themed with a distressed nautical look, open cabinets and contains most of the necessities for a chef. Our favorite hang out area is the great room, which has an open set up, vaulted ceilings and a "BigAss" Brand Haiku Fan, which, feels hypnotic like the soft drone of a helicopter propeller. To us, a very clean bungalow is of the utmost importance for our guests upon arrival. In fact, our bungalows have always had very high cleanliness standards and though cleaning + inspection process. Recently, we have taken our cleaning process to the next level by implementing recommended CDC guidelines. Between each guest stay our beach bungalows are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized with EPA approved disinfectants on surfaces and common touch points. Interaction with guests We are friendly and may say hello during your stay yet we do respect our guests’ privacy. We also love sharing our favorite local places to eat and things to do. We even created a guide that our guests have found helpful in planning their OBX adventure, after booking, just ask! Other things to note \*\*\*We do kindly ask that all potential guests read the entire description before requesting to book\*\*\* We love our OBX bungalow, it's a great house yet, like most homes it is not perfect and not for everyone. We respect that folks have different preferences and world views. If your looking for a unique place and local experience in a great beach town to relax, spend time with loved ones, chill out, cook and rest your head after the beach then the bungalow checks all the boxes. If you're seeking a perfect, flawless home or are super high maintenance, this is not the place for you. Bringing your dog? We love dogs and are happy to have your four legged friends and family members at our bungalows. Such a great place to relax after a day at the beach! This charming house has much to offer and the owners were great at meeting of needs. It is not a fancy-schmancy house, but one you can put your feet up in and truly unwind. There is not a dishwasher if that is important to you, but there are loads of beach toys and table games! We did not walk to the beach...it was a very hot week, but the two minute drive was easy and we always managed to find parking. The beds and linens were excellent and the showers were perfect! Last September we visited the Chill Beach and was completely wowed by the hospitality that Michael Hamilton and Maria afforded us. Available at every step of the process either with a recommendation or an idea to make the vacation special we thoroughly enjoyed our first time to the Outer Banks. When we booked this time we picked the worst possible week in the path of a Hurricane that wound up making landfall in the Outer Banks. Michael, the host, kept in touch throughout that week and offered us the option of coming the week following the event. Everywhere an accommodation could be made, Michael and Maria made it. Making our trip exceptional was evident in every detail. Whether it was the great greeting by Allison, one of the team members or the lovely touch of a gift beach bag waiting for us, each touch point is well thought out and is designed to overcome any obstacle to enjoying your time. We were lucky this visit that Michael and Maria were in town and we were able to meet and share a bottle of wine. I am not an enthusiastic Air BnB visitor, but, if you are looking for an absolutely worry free and a super "Chill" experience, DO NOT HESITATE to book the Chill Beach Bungalow ..... I have never used an Airb before but we had our two small dogs and have not really found pet friendly hotels suitable. I filtered my search for a property by the beach which would accommodate our quiet small dogs and provide the privacy and convenience of home. From the moment we arrived, I knew that something was different. The hosts, Mike and Maria could not have made the experience more perfect. Many people are able to convert their property to accommodate guests, but few under the hospitality business like Mike and Maria. Every single need was anticipated and we felt at home in their home immediately. The property was immaculate and it’s location couldn’t be more convenient. Maria stayed in touch by text during our stay always ready for a suggestion or to answer any questions. My wife and I have travelled extensively over the years and this experience was wonderful in every way. It was perfect for us: two adults and a large dog. We didn't even use the upstairs the main floor was just perfect. Great location -- the beach was literally down the road a few minutes as was just about anywhere else you'd want to explore. As for the hosts -- they're AWESOME! They put up with my steady stream of questions and provided us with a list of dog friendly spots. A friend of theirs even dropped off a half dozen Duck donuts on their behalf during our stay. That's above and beyond hospitality in our book. We'd stay again in a heartbeat, loved the neighbors (except the grumpy chihuahua), and all told this is a perfect place for a beach vacation. When you first arrive to the property you instantly feel all worries and concerns melt away. The home is so inviting with beautiful treasures from the sea and images from local beach life. Everything was so clean and ready, the rooms were so clean and relaxing to be in. There is a pier not far away for those that like fishing or simply to watch the catch of the day. Cool little vintage arcade at the entrance. We spent Labor Day weekend at the house during tropical storm Hermine and still had a great time. We didn't get to enjoy the cool backyard or the beach cruisers, but board games kept us busy, beds were comfortable and it was the perfect place to relax and get away for our family of 4\. The house was clean, and well equipped with bikes, beach towels, 2 grills, and even a surf board! We really liked the outdoor shower after coming home from the beach, it made it easy to get the kids clean without a fuss. The neighborhood was also perfect for a vacation with children--It was quiet, friendly, and within walking and biking distance to everything. Michael was an excellent host and very attentive to any possible needs we might have had. The weather was amazing so we spent almost all of our time on the beach or chilling in the backyard playing kanjam and grilling a variety of fine meats. Would recommend this spot for anyone looking to spend a lot of time outside. The house isn't massive (we had 5 large men in their mid-20's) but it was very comfortable with great amenities. We had a great little getaway at the chill beach bungalow! Michael had great communication with us, so we knew just what to expect before we arrived and he also checked in on us to make sure we had anything we needed. Though he was away travelling so we did not get to meet him, he also provided us with a local contact in case we needed anything which we thought was great! Though we did not need anything else, it was great to know who to contact if we did. The instructions to find and get into the house were super easy to follow. The beach cottage was just as the pictures described. It is super clean. The other great thing is that it seemed like Michael really thought about all the little things from kitchen supplies, wifi, cable, electronics to candles to make you feel like you are at home. It was still a bit warm when we were there, so we were happy to find the house well air conditioned with plenty of fans. There is even a huge Haiku fan in the living room area! We had a great weekend enjoying the bbq in the back yard. There are even two grills for your preference, gas or charcoal with a great picnic table so everyone can enjoy a meal in the yard together. It was also nice to relax in the hammock. We were walking distance to the beach and sound as well as a putt putt course and grocery store. There is also a nice surf spot at the end of first street. All the other major attractions like the Wright Brothers memorial were a short drive. I can't wait to come back to the Outer Banks and stay in the chill bungalow again! ##### Maria F. Perfect for dropping in to the beach for a long weekend, or a last minute swell. The house is in a great neighborhood right in the center of town (close to a lot of good restaurants and bars). The neighborhood was quiet, which was nice, and made it good for relaxing. Real easy bike ride to the beach or the sound! Michael was super accommodating and let me know where I could find everything I needed. I will definitely be coming back to this place (soon!) and highly recommend it to anyone! The house has a great layout with a spacious kitchen and a big backyard. Perfect for grilling out after a long day at the beach. I thought the hammock out back was a great touch! ##### Brian M. ---
