Thanks to its amazing waterfront location along one of the many canals that wind their way through this coveted community, The Bird House is the perfect vacation rental home for outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy easy and direct access to the calm waters of the canal that lies along the edge of the property. Here you can hop on your kayak or standup paddleboard and head out for a soothing excursion along the canal—or make the journey to the place where the canal flows out into the Roanoke Sound for a more adventurous excursion on the water.   
  
On the Main Level of this home, step inside and enjoy a relaxing waterfront afternoon in the spacious Living Area with cozy furniture and a Flat Screen TV for easy movie nights or entertainment on a rainy day. Pop on over to the Kitchen where you can make a delicious meal of fresh, local seafood for your whole family to enjoy at the nearby open-concept Dining Area or the convenient Breakfast Bar in the center of the Kitchen. Pass by the Laundry Closet with a Washer and Dryer on your way back to the back where you'll find three bedrooms ideal for getting some rest before enjoying another day of exciting Outer Banks adventures and outdoor exploration. Colington Harbor is a beautiful, secluded island community offering amazing views and ample opportunity for crabbing, fishing, kayaking, and an array of other watersports! Situated about 15 minutes back from the main bypass, you are never far from something fun to explore or something good to eat. Try a tasty slice from Colington Pizza (they even deliver!) or sample a crab benedict and mimosa for Sunday brunch at The Saltbox Café. Colington Café is another great place to enjoy the local fare, especially if you're celebrating a birthday or anniversary. If you enjoy cooking at home, stop by Billy's Seafood Market for a fine selection of fresh seafood including everything from shrimp and oysters to mahi-mahi and tuna. While you're out exploring, be sure to stop by the Wright Brothers National Memorial where you can experience an interactive museum about the nation's history of aviation and enjoy a 360-degree view of the surrounding beach as you stand beside the famous monument.
