If you’re looking for a more casual dining option, the kitchen bar provides ample seating. A large outdoor patio is also available for al fresco dining next to the roaring river. Hiking trails, kayaking, rafting, nature walks, mountain biking, fly fishing, Kern River Audubon Preserve, Sequoia Forest Giant Redwoods, Isabella Lake, Salmon Creek Falls – even a quaint chairlift ski resort less than a half-hour away - are all right here in the incredibly diverse Kern River Valley. Fishing for the extremely rare, remarkably beautiful state fish of California – the Golden Trout – is only found in the upper reaches of the Wild and Scenic Kern River (License Required). Kernville also features an amazing selection of local eateries, including the award-winning Kern River Brewing Company. Guest Access: Guest will have access to the entire house. Other things to Note: Parking is available with a spacious 2 car garage, as well as a spacious gated driveway. Quiet neighborhood, absolutely no parties allowed. As mentioned by others, the actual experience is so much better than what you see in the photos!! Our family enjoyed a wonderful weekend at this amazing river front home. The home has a great layout for a family, had a well stocked kitchen, a beautiful deck overlooking the river, and a location that can’t be beat! My kids caught a ton of fish right in front of the house and we all enjoyed rafting on the river. The host was great and easy to communicate with. We can’t wait to return! ##### Allison C. Perfectly located on the river, with 2 balconies that overlook the river. The house has private beach. We enjoyed our stay and definitely will be renting in spring or summer. It has the most amazing view when you walk in directly over the river and right into nature. The highlights are definitely the balconies that overlook the river and the immediate river access just below the house. We went with family ranging in age from 2-68 and it was great for all! It is so awesome to walk into a home and it’s more beautiful than you imagined. It is very clean and comfortable. Beds were all comfy. The location on the river is absolutely stunning. Beach towels provided and cooking basics available in home (spices, oil, etc) Our family of six had space to hang out, play games (many provided) and enjoy relaxing time watching the water go by. I invited a few friends for a weekend rafting trip at kernville and my choice of this property made me look like genius with my friends . The property is located on one of the best stretches of the river, with tasteful touches that begin as you enter through the gates into the long driveway, walk into a cool air condiioned home after s long drive! The owner spared no expense in adding every little touch to make our stay a memorable one! We enjoyed having everything we needed in this home and loved the private beach The manager was friendly, professional and very accomedating. We are already planning our next trip. ##### arman R. Our son is 12 but has a disability. He loves the water. We really enjoyed our stay. We loved the layout of the apartment and it was neat and clean with just the right amount of stuff. Access to the river was easy and we spent each evening by the river. Internet access even near the River was great! Our dog had a good time too. We will surely come back to this property the next time we visit. We also let some close family friends know about the property. ##### Smriti R. The stairs down to the beach are somewhat steep, so the house wouldn’t be a good fit if you had a immobile person with you. But dogs are allowed with approval, which was great for us. My son caught many fish right off the property. Across the river from the house is a campground but there was no disturbance from it. The parking area in front was ample. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this rental. ##### Andrea M. We usually head to a beach town, but wanted to try a new adventure after 15 years at the beach. Stunning views, amazing location to the river & town, floor plan was lovely to all gather & be together for meals & or grilling on the deck. Easy to set up on the beach/river & float, people watch or enjoy the sunset. Hose on the deck made it great to hose off sand on feet, tubes & chairs. AC after the day in the sun was very much appreciated. We for sure will be back. Owner was very good at communicating & check in/out was a breeze. The only negative is the living room seating. The place sleeps 8 & has like a 65" TV, however only really has comfy TV seating for 5\. Tons of seating for eating, but high bar chairs aren't comfy for movie or sports watching for any length of time. After a day on the river in the sun we like to relax & watch a movie, etc. If you are a family with kids, it probably works, but we are all adults, so a small couch that seats 3, and 2 chairs is all there is for TV viewing. 1 more simple couch would make all the world of difference. Other than this, we LOVED the home & will be back & figure out how to make it work. Thank you the new adventure. ##### Mary Jo G.
