"Room was pretty clean and spacious. The young lady who checked us in was friendly and nice. The sink needs a larger countertop. There were 2 of us staying (my wife and I in a king-size room) and there wasn’t enough room by the sink for both of us to store our toiletries. Also, they gave us enough bath towels and washcloths but only one hand towel. There should’ve been two hand towels. There were a couple small holes in the fitted bed sheet—not a good look. Also, *we* had to be the ones to put the TV through the channel-scanning process. This should’ve been done by hotel staff before we arrived. Overall it’s a good place and I’d stay there again but fixing or improving those little details as listed above would make a big difference. Thank you."
"We loved our stay at the Trail Hotel over Memorial Day weekend. We originally planned for two nights but had to extend our stay after our vehicle broke down and we couldn’t find a rental car or service because of the holiday weekend. The staff were incredibly kind, patient, and helpful throughout the entire situation.
The hotel is a beautifully renovated former Holiday Inn that was transformed into a bourbon boutique hotel while keeping the original historic structure due to historical zoning. The rooms are spacious, including the standard rooms, with cozy wood finishes and rich colors that really bring the bourbon atmosphere throughout the property. The showers are large and beautifully tiled.
There are five bars on-site, including a hidden speakeasy that was a lot of fun. The bartenders are knowledgeable, the drinks are unique, and the wait staff were always friendly and attentive.
The property also has a large pool and a 12-person hot tub, both very clean and clearly well maintained.
Transportation tip: Uber was unreliable in the area and actually stranded us at Maker’s Mark Distillery. Bardstown Taxi was excellent and offered flat rates around town.
Only tiny complaints: there’s no ledge in the shower for easier leg shaving, and the hair dryers are basic, so bring your own if you have thick hair. Bread is not included in your meals, not a deal breaker
Overall, this is a great place to fully experience the bourbon trail atmosphere, and we would absolutely stay again."
"Looks new, Been there 5 years. Well taken care of property. You can hear people above you walking so building isn't built with buffering that in mind"
"We stayed 3 nights. The pool was closed most of or stay. Our room wasn't cleared or replenished after the 1st night and I had to go to the front desk for towels. I got some in the evening and had to go back to the front desk again the next morning to get the rest of the towels. I wasn't the only guest to do this as I saw others with piles of towels. I asked about my room being cleaned after the 2nd night. I was assured that my room was a priority. We left for the day, came back at 2pm to find the room hadn't been touched. I was annoyed and tried to cancel my 3rd night but the desk clerk said he was unable to do and he gave my the manager's email. I emailed her 32 hours ago with still no response. My room was eventually taken care of. I kept being told that they were short staffed/ there had been a dryer fire. If a hotel cant take care of it's guests they should not take reservations. I would have rather they called and canceled and i would have found alternative accommodation rather than to put up with such bad service. This truly is the worst chain hotel that I have ever stayed in. This needs to be rectified"

"Nothing special about this property. Our bathroom smelled like sewage. Rooms weren’t above clean, they were okay. No towels in the pool and the pool area was gross."
