With the charming village of Kennebunkport just half a mile down the road, you'll be able to walk to an assortment of wonderful restaurants, shops, galleries, and lobster shacks from this classic, comfortable home. As you ride your bikes back from the beach each afternoon, you'll be greeted by a glassed-in sun porch that's perfect for reading, playing card games, or simply enjoying the view of the surrounding neighborhood. Inside, the living room, dining room, and kitchen come together in a light-filled space with hardwood floors, lovely wainscoting, and a built-in window seat. There's a gas fireplace to toast your toes as you watch the wall-mounted flatscreen TV (one of three in the house), space to dine at both the circular dining table and the two-person peninsula breakfast bar, and a separate study just off the kitchen that houses another flatscreen TV and the sofabed. There's a gas grill on the patio, and free WiFi to complement the cozy workspace in one of the upstairs bedrooms. What's nearby: This property backs up to a tidal marsh and river, allowing you a view of the water from the upstairs when the tide is fully in. The house is also immediately west of downtown Kennebunkport's many darling restaurants, eateries, and shops, with the heart of the village easily accessed by walking, riding your bike, or driving just half a mile down Western Avenue. Beach-goers can take their pick of Mothers Beach (one mile south) and Gooch's Beach (just over a mile south), and golfers can tee off at the Webhannet Golf Club only one-mile southwest. Everything is provided for you down to the coffee pods. It’s super close to everything. Even the beach if you’re up for a nice stroll. Very spacious. Beds were very comfortable, including the pull out couch bed in the den. Knowing there is no AC, was excited the bedrooms had window AC units. It is a short block to really nice breakfast/lunch restaurant and walking distance to Dock Harbor. Will consider this house again for future east coast trips. ##### Mary B. The house was perfect for the 4 of us. It was very clean, comfortable and within walking distance to local restaurants. The only issue we had was the kitchen wasn’t well equipped if you like to cook. There were no large pots, or cooking utensils but we were able to make it work. We loved the house and are hoping to go back in warmer weather. ##### Pamela C. You feel at home the minute you walk in the door. The open floor plan, welcoming fireplace and living room, and closed in front porch provides plenty of areas to sit and relax. The bedrooms are great sized and very comfortable. The house is easily walkable or a 30 second drive to Kennebunkport and all of the shops and restaurants, and a short drive to the beach. My 5 year olds favorite part was the chipmunk (he named chocolate chip) that met us on the driveway every morning. Wonderful house! ##### Peter G. The house was clean and in the lovely condition it appears online. We had 1 mix up with a bed needing sheets but with a quick text was immediately rectified. Great house, great location. We didn’t cook because of all the great restaurants but the kitchen is fully stocked. Wonderful place!! ##### Malia L. Small "study" off the kitchen is perfect for a third bedroom...we had a blowup bed for a 3 year old. The master is quite spacious. Bathrooms are both more than adequate...downstairs is a walkin shower, upstairs a tub/shower. The open concept is perfect and the year round porch is beautiful. Location is perfect to walk to town but bring a stroller for the littles. We had no trouble parking for the Kennebunk beaches 3rd week in June. We had an issue with the finicky lock code to get in but we received excellent help from the folks at Vacasa. Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to be close to the action but not in town. ##### Marti S. Lovely well equipped home walking distance from restaurants, shopping, docks, etc. The cottage is updated with large bedrooms and beautiful bathrooms. We picked a bad week to be there and did not realize there's no A/C. The exterior lock is a real challenge and super frustrating (it consistently times out before the 10 digit code can be entered). The cottage sits on a busy road with a narrow drive and no place to turn around. I'm sure it's not an issue in the off season.
