The room, surrounding, beach and pool where well-kept and maintained. However there isn't much to do outside the compound as it is away from local shops and downtown. Generally friendly staff, although I did had a distasteful phone interaction with one receptionist while reporting an incident in our room, but after insisting that it has to be dealt with, management stepped in and rectified it. Overall My wife and I had a good and relaxing stay.

There are many places to go in the world and have a better vacation, with far fewer bucks spent. If you like the idea of a stationary cruise and spending $800-$1,000/day to eat then this is your spot. The resort is well done, well kept, and has most everything you could ask for. The rooms are a bit tired as evidenced by the door handles coming off with use. The beach has to be one of the worst in the Bahamas, however and I would rank the Florida gulf coast as a nicer beach environment. Try Eluthera if you want an amazing beach. Also, for my family, the experience did not match the cost. It was more to eat/drink at this place than it was to fly first class and stay at the resort. 2 bottled waters, a can of diet coke, and a bag of chips was $42 on the first day. That's when we knew we had been taken. Vacationer beware.

The staff was very nice. I accidentally booked the stay for a different date. The staff assisted me with how I can change it. She was very helpful. I love the ambience at the restaurant the food was great. I love the amenities in the rooms. I would definitely stay here again.

Go in with low expectations. And you’ll have a decent time. The staff are.. unhelpful at best. Do not expect good service - okay service is what you’ll get (or worse). We arrived at 4 pm to check-in at the front desk and were told there is “no guarantee rooms will be ready by 4pm.” So we then waited until 4:45 for our room to be ready. Our room smelled very musty like an indoor pool ..Back to the front desk to ask for some remediation.. they cleaned it, smelled normal. Then a day later smelled very musty again (bathroom was the source). So fed up at this point, I just asked to switch rooms and switched to the Concierge 1-bedroom, that was nice, service improved greatly (at the Concierge hotel, still awful at the resort part). BTW this was not an “Upgrade”.. They refused to offer me any credit for my prior room. Not happy about that, but still glad I switched. No one could live in that room for 3 more days. The food and drinks are also outrageously expensive, especially for the quality and service. You just feel like you’re constantly getting ripped off. Would I go back? Maybe, but this time I would get VIP so breakfast is included (that saves 100$ a day on 4 ppl) and happy hour/hors d’oeuvres (saves 200$ a day for 2 adults). -Our 1 bedroom VIP was only 300$ more than our initial horrid room (2 queen ocean view) We have kids, but if you’re coming to “party” I would probably consider getting ‘duty free’ booze at the airport to bring into the Bahamas.
