"Kotohira Onsen Onyado Shikishimakan was 1 of about 8 hotels we stayed at over about 2 weeks in Japan. While all the places we stayed were good, this was the best. Their onsen is outstanding as were the meals. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to experience the Real Japan!"

"This is a beautiful old house, in a very pretty area. If you enjoy Japanese architecture this is a great place to stay. Our host went out of his way to make sure we felt accommodated and offered to take us to the beach and and drop us to the train station."
