The rooms were spacious and the price was reasonable. The breakfast was excellent, "must get" in addition to the room! The bed was a bit hard and there was a gap between the bed mattresses and couldn't get rid of it. The help were nice and overall atmosphere was excellent. The restaurant tasting menu was excellent, be sure to reserve it beforehand, you cannot just walk in. Also remember to mention if you want to dine tasting menu or regular food off the menu - we almost couldn't get tasting menu at all as receptionist didn't ask about this and this fact doesn't seem to read anywhere. Our plan was to get 4 course menu but we had to settle for 4 course tasting menu as we didn't tell about getting it beforehand. I don't know how you are supposed to know this, maybe the receptionist forgot to ask about it or assumed we did not want fine dining off the menu due to semi young age. We did get -10% off the 4 course tasking menu which I guess was ok effort to compensate for the loss of +2 dish fine dining. And the 4 dishes were solid sized and did not leave us hungry. For those wanting some peace or ‘off grid’ (kind of), this is the place to be. It is close to a river and I was told they have a library that can be accessed by the visitors. For a nominal fee, one can learn a bit of history of the monastery. Their restaurant prepares excellent meal. Their 9 course is a must try. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. If you need a transfer or ride to or from the monastery, the staff can arrange it. If given another chance, I will stay again at Monte Pacis. I love the feel of being in a historic place such as this. I definitely recommend this place to everyone even if you are only to stay one night. Their local tour guide was very knowledgeable.
