We arrived to a warm welcome from the staff. They were caring and attentive throughout our stay. There's not a lot to do after your safari in the surrounding area in terms of shops or stalls. There are however really beautiful rice paddy and lake scenes for anyone who wants to get adventurous on the bikes they provide and the locals are really friendly. The food was delicious. We didn't request anything in particular they just cooked up rice or noodles with chicken one night and the garlic prawns the next. The stay overall was simple yet relaxing and a great place to unwind with a partner or with family. Bring a book and sit outside and listen to the wildlife. We woke up to monkeys on the roof the first morning of our stay which was an exciting experience. Great for experiencing local wildlife. The host and staff were extremely friendly and helpful, eg the gave us free rides to downtown, where they showed us around the Kataragama festival. They helped us out with different things, such as getting some medication, providing us with free bikes and were overall very friendly. On the downside, we would have liked the option of a Western breakfast. As far as we know there is only Sri Lankan breakfast available and that is a bit much for us at least.
