Great location in the center, but the reception lobby and rooms are all a little dated. I was expecting something nicer and larger for the price. I guess you’re paying for the location, even though you must park 5 minutes away and walk in. We did not know we had a room on the 3rd floor with a tiny spiral staircase, and brought our rolling luggage. If we’d known, we would have brought a smaller overnight bag. Breakfast was good and there was air conditioning! A God-send in the extremely hot weather.

The hotel is located in Altstadt of Basel on a quite street. It's 15 min by walk from Basel SBB or 2 stops away by street car. Museums, cafes restaurants, groceries, and other shops are short walk away from the hotel. The staff is friendly and professional. Overall, I'm satisfied.

It was a delightful surprise to find this impressive boutique hotel. Staff were excellent & our room was more than we expected. The restaurant served a plentiful, unique, & varied dinner on the patio. Despite the incredible heat it was fairly cool. And so delicious. Our stay was made even better when they provided taxi service from Basel airport & then to the airport the next morning. Promptly on time. I regret not using the spa service.
