I understand this property has recently been refurbished, and the hotel is certainly very clean and modern. Our room was excellent with several useful appliances, a small kitchen area and the bathroom had a powerful shower, with plenty of hot water. The air conditioning in our room was perfect. Staff on the reception were very friendly and efficient and made us feel at home. We opted to use our smart phone to open the room door. The hotel send a link to your phone, and this worked extremely well. The hotel location is just off Denman Street and is really convenient for English Bay and Stanley Park. There are numerous restaurants within a few minutes walk. Although Denman Street is extremely busy and can be noisy, our room was extremely quiet, and we slept very well. All in all, I would certainly recommend this hotel, if you are staying in Vancouver.

Seems like it would have been a nice place when it first opened, but there were a ton of issues with the room. Doors that don’t close properly, missing cupboard handles, duct tape on the floor, shoddy construction work all around which is really starting to show. The coffee was also a major disappointment. They have good beans on offer from a local roaster, but the supplies to make the coffee (coffee maker and pour-over set) aren’t up to the task. The coffee maker especially was nearly impossible to figure out and constantly came out watery and bitter. On the plus side, communication with the staff was alright, in-suite laundry was a nice touch, and the gym was well equipped enough for a short stay. I would recommend staying somewhere else in the area given the price.
