Special! Book 2 nights and receive a third night at a reduced rate - Conditions apply. This property is in a stunning and private location, about 10 minutes drive from the village of Kangaroo Valley. Enjoy complimentary champagne on arrival as you soak up the 300 acres of paradise, the escarpment, rain forest, waterfalls, and miniature stud beef cattle. The cottage is beautifully decorated, exceptionally comfortable, with air conditioning, log fire (firewood provided from May-September) and is fully equipped. Downstairs you will find a spacious main bedroom with a comfortable Queen bed and ensuite as well as an inviting second bedroom plus the second bathroom. Upstairs has a lounge room and an expansive balcony with outdoor setting from which to take in the breathtaking views. Why not relax in front of fire reading a good book, or watching a dvd. With its own fully equipped kitchen including coffee machine (BYO pods) and stocked with the basic necessities, dining room and garden with barbecue, there is no need to even leave the place - just pack your bags, arrive and forget that the rest of the world exists. I woke up to see some fog forming through the valley during the sunrise, such a great view from the top balcony. The animals on the property were friendly and inquisitive we came across lyrebirds, parrots, aplacas, cows, dogs and rabbits. It was 10 minutes to the town and 30 minutes radius for all the other lookouts and hikes in the region which made it a wonderful base that you could come back to quickly if needed. We ended up buying a plug-in deodoriser to disguise the smell. We could only use one shelf of the fridge door as the other two were missing. The property is close to the town - an easy ten minutes to drive down and pick up lunch - but far enough away that it's lovely and peaceful. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the WiFi is! Our only minor complaint is that the upstairs sliding door is a bit temperamental and the flyscreen is coming away a bit. Apart from that everything was just wonderful. It was truly lovely for our family to spend a couple of days basking in the glory of nature. The rustic atmosphere and layout of the cottage was great and it was bigger than we expected. We enjoyed the fire, the stargazing, the wombats, the BBQ and did I mention the view! Sadly, we found both beds to be extremely and almost unbearably firm. Even my husband who loves a firm bed was struggling to get a good nights sleep. Also, the couches in both sitting rooms were in desperate need of replacing with something more comfortable. It was just not really the kind of place we could look forward to curling up on a comfy couch together at night or having a restful sleep (which to my mind are really essential ingredients for a 'relaxing' break away in a place like this). Such a shame because in every other way the cottage really exceeded our expectations. Felt very cosy inside with the fire and the view is spectacular! Very well equipped and comfortable house and lots of wombats which was lovely to see. The town is very close but you feel completely secluded at the cottage which is just a short drive into the property. I think that the electric blankets in the second bedroom don't seem to work but that didn't affect our stay. ##### Alice P. Superb views, even in the rain. We spent a very cosy weekend at Alcheringa, with lovely wood fire. Close to Kangaroo Valley shops and activities. Very well maintained and comfortable.
