The Grand Hills offers a highly intimate escape from the confines of daily life, allowing guests to enjoy total seclusion while being surrounded by open nature. It comes complete with breathtaking views of the hills of the ancient kingdom, and is one of the most scenic properties.  
  
 five bedrooms including family rooms and a private pool, The Grand Hills is perfectly suited for group holidays and is extremely family-friendly. The enhanced solitude and privacy also makes it ideal for romantic getaways, honeymoons and anniversary celebrations.  
  
The rooms at The Grand Hills are luxurious but are in perfect harmony with nature, blanketed by the blissful sounds of rustling leaves and birdsong. All rooms are fully air-conditioned and provide all the modern amenities such as flat-screen satellite TV, safe and mini-bar. The private bathroom includes a shower and hairdryer. Free bottled water and daily newspapers are provided.  
  
The Grand Hills has its own restaurant that serves delectable Sri Lankan and Western cuisine catering for all dietary needs, Breakfast is available each morning 7.00am to 10.00am and includes continental, ala carte, and Asian options. $6 per person.

We are centrally located and within 4km distance to all the main attractions in kandy city. The Grand hills is situated in a peaceful neighborhood in the tourist area approximately 4 k.m. The Royal Botanical garden in Peradeniya is approximately 3 Km away. The Colombo International AirPort is 105 km away.  
  
Since we are located in Kandy which is in the center of the island and therefore an ideal start point for day excursions to more than half of Sri Lanka. We recommend the following local attractions in kandy. The temple of the tooth Relic, traditional kandyan dancers, The kandy view point "Arthur seat" ,the royal botanical gardens, udawattakele tropical forest reserve, kandy city museum, Ceylon tea museum, numerous quaint ancient temples, the kandy "esala perehera" is a pageant consisting of traditional dancers and elephants lit by torch lights held in august, the adventurous at heart can venture on a hike along the spine of hanthana mountain range with scenic views. We recommend the following day excursions. The pinnawala elephant orphanage and zoological garden, the tea gardens and waterfalls of nuwaraeliya, the horton plains nature reserve, dambulla rock temple and sigiriya rock fortress and frescos, safaris to habarana, minneria, wasgamuwa wildlife reserves, visits to polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura ancient cities

It was awfully packed over the full moon weekend (would not recommend visiting during this period)! This pavilion-like structure at the front Paththirippuwa, or Octagon. It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for.  
Footwear is not permitted inside, so you should either carry a bag where you can keep your shoes, or leave your shoes out on the grass like everyone else!
