Amazing value for money
Sparkling clean hotel with large rooms in a lovely setting. Ideally located 5min walk from the Old Quarters where all restaurants, shops and bar are located. Ideal for a 2 night stay in the centre of Kampot. They also bake delicious pizza in a wooden fire. Highly recommended! This is obviously a value hotel so if you expect 5 star service, this is probably not for you.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Mea Culpa. My room was spacious and comfortable, there was a balcony terrace which I could sit out on to relax and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The location is also ideal, being between a 5 and 10 minute walk to town, depending on where you're going.

This is quiet, well maintained property. The rooms are spacious and modern. It is exceptionally clean. There is a pleasant outdoor eating area and bar. The staff are pleasant, happy people although most do not speak English. It has a beautiful garden. They accept dogs. Good value for your money.

Great location good food and nice quiet clean surroundings. The location is great and accessible come on yet quiet enough. This is a small family Hotel and they take great care of their guest. We had booked initially for two nights and then extended five more nights, that says a lot the parking for your motorbike is secure and the gate is closed after 10 p.m. The owner and his wife are very helpful and can I offer many suggestions about this area. I am sure we will be back, we really enjoyed the atmosphere with great music

Lovely location, a 10 minute walk from the old market/centre. The room was spacious and clean, and the shower had good water pressure. Bicycles are available free of charge. Staff were friendly and helpful with travel and tour bookings. The restaurant has good breakfast, coffee and pizza.

Enjoyed our stay here and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated away from the noise in the town centre but still easy to access local restaurants (about a 10 minute walk).It is set in a well maintained garden and has an outdoor area to relax and enjoy a drink. A pizza oven is fired up each night if required.

The best place to stay in Kampot
What a lovely place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Kampot and our stay at Mea Culpa. The location is very nice - it's a short 10 minute walk from the "center" of town so you are close to everything but not so close that there will be a lot of noise in the evenings. You're also very close to the waterfront and the evening sunset boast cruises. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Our only room complaint was that the wifi wasn't great, but not a big deal overall. The power went out very briefly a few times but this seems to be very common in Kampot. We had breakfast every morning at the hotel which was so tasty and very reasonably priced compared to your options in town. I recommend the fresh fruit salad - best $2 spent! There are free bikes you can borrow as needed which was appreciated to get around town. If you need to go further (to the pepper plantations, Kep, etc) then the staff can help arrange a tuk tuk for you. The staff were all SO kind and helpful! If you're going to Kampot, definitely stay here!

Lovely terrace, rooms are ok, some with balcony air cond and fan , 10 min walk from most restaurants and bars. Free bikes! On the downside, the cleaning at other rooms is done very loudly with the ladies talking loud at 7-8 AM

We stayed at Mea Culpa in mid Feb for 3 nights and it was excellent. Quiet location and very very clean. Room was spacious (the photos listed don't do justice. the room is much nicer than shown!!!) The staff were all very friendly and helpful. highly recommend it.

We had a lovely two nights at Mea Culpa. The location is a 10 minute walk from the centre, but the guesthouse offers free bikes if that's too far. The Irish owner is very friendly and extremely helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable. We loved it.

Great stay
Great place with a njce family atmosphere. Close enough to Kampot center to walk but far enough to nit to be bothered by bars and restaurants noises. Rooms are clean, a/c works great and cofee and tea are free hotel. You can easily rent a scooter at the hotel, it will be brought from a nearby shop. And then explore the Kampot surroundings.

Mea Culpa - A Charming Guesthouse in Lovely Kampot
I booked Mea Culpa for three nights using Hotels.com. I liked the place so much, that I extended my stay for over a week. Ben, his wife and all the staff are very friendly and so helpful. My room is comfortable and very clean. It is a one minute walk to the river front walk of Kampot and a few minutes more to the main city center - this makes for a perfect location. The restaurant also offers tasty food and yummy drinks. Do yourself a favor and stay here when you visit Kampot.

Spacious rooms with all the amenities. Bright lighting and lots of plug ins. Comfortable beds. Quiet location just off the main street. The knowledgeable and helpful owner goes out of his way to ensure that the needs of guests are taken care of. Tours and onward transportation can be arranged if you want. The onsite restaurant serves delicious meals and the pizza cooked in their wood fired oven is not to be missed.

A mini resort
Mea Culpa Kampot feels like a mini resort, a place to linger and “hangout.” The location is an easy walk to everything but it has a feeling of privacy and seclusion. My room was spacious, clean and welcoming, the staff friendly and open, and the owner Ben a resource of local information, helpful and gracious.

My second stay here and this time with a friend who enjoyed our stay equally as much! Great room, number 9 & extremely clean, friendly staff. Clean towels every day and water provided. Fridge and kettle, mugs, spoons for use anytime in the lobby of the building we stayed in. Ben, the owner is very nice, informative and runs a terrific guest house. Bikes for free use for guests is a bonus. We didn't eat there but meals look good, they specialize in wood fire oven pizza. Close to the shops but far enough away to be quiet, no party or bar noise. This place is the best!

Wonderful place , we had a spacious room overlooking river with big balcony. Very comfortable, lovely bed and all in a quieter area of the waterfront. Easy walk into main restaurant area, along the riverfront.they do great pizzas and cocktails too.

I find the reviews for this place quite overrated. First floor room is spacious but not well designed. No desk and chair or anywhere to place your luggage. Air conditioner too small for the size of the room. Huge balcony but dangerously slippery. I slipped over and spent the rest of my stay and holiday with a very sore shoulder and hip. Nice Manager and staff.

The hotel is set in nice gardens and an easy walk to the riverfront. The room is clean and consistent for the price. Hotel staff friendly and happy to assist. The breakfast was very average and we thought overpriced. Skip the coffee too, it was expensive and well below par.

Good choice in Kampot
Located in rather a smart, quiet residential area of Kampot with elegant government buildings around it (and some under construction). A pleasant five minute walk along the riverbank to the town centre, restaurants and shops etc. Hotel has no pool but has a pleasant seating area in the garden where there was always someone to bring you a drink or whatever. Bedroom was light, airy and clean with everything one needed. Bed comfy and pillows not too hard.

A wonderful place to relax
Lovely Guesthouse House on the edge of Town. The centre was an easy 10 walk along the river Esplanade (one of the nicest in all Cambodia). Ben, the manager and his team were helpful and attentive. We enjoyed sitting on our private balcony enjoying the cool breeze which was lovely after the humidity of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. Ben also arrived a Tuk Tuk for the day out to the Kampot Pepper Plantations and Kep which we wanted to see. Very happy to pay the $25 to young driver who spoke good English and gave us a lovely day. Highly recommended

Gem in Kampot off the main drag
Fabulous 5 day stay here. Staff super friendly, owner very accommodating & personable. They have a wood fire pizza oven which I didn't try as I'm not a pizza fan. Did not eat here at all as there are many good restaurants in town & I are with different friends every night. Quiet with the exception of construction which starts at 7am. No roosters but some noisy dogs for a few early mornings. You will need earplugs. Super clean, large rooms, high ceilings & cleaned every day with fresh towels. Staff are always cleaning! Great ambience & a garden to chill out. Bikes to use free of charge which were pretty good. My only issue was the mattresses are way too hard so I used all my pillows to create my own pillow top. All other places I stayed had foams which are softer but these are actual mattresses. It's a thing in SE Asia that I've never understood! But this was pretty minor considering I had 6 pillows on 2 giant beds. Stayed an extra night as it was such a welcoming Guesthouse.

My favourite stay in Cambodia
Exceptionally nice and clean hotel at walking distance (= quietly located) from the center of Kampot. The staff and owner were so helpful and friendly, they made me feel right at home. Highly recommend, and I will return here when I get back to Cambodia for further explorations.
