Arrive at private parking right at the door, then head straight through to the garden, where a private hot tub waits beneath the trees. This semi-detached house in Kamnik sleeps up to 6, with plenty of room, both indoors and out, for a family or a small group to spread out.

Outside is where the days happen. A pergola shades the outdoor kitchen and its grill, a covered terrace catches the morning sun, and a separate dining spot sits tucked among the greenery, perfect for long, unhurried lunches. Free Wi-Fi reaches the whole property, so a lazy afternoon by the hot tub is just as easy with a book as it is with a laptop.

Inside, the kitchen-diner is fitted with a dishwasher, oven, cooker hob, coffee machine and fridge, ready for cooking together after a day exploring the hills. The living room opens straight onto the terrace, with a fireplace lit for cooler evenings, blurring the line between in and out. Location

The house sits in a quiet, leafy pocket of Kamnik, a 10-minute walk from restaurants, cafés, the supermarket and bus stops, as well as the small hilltop church of Mali Grad, the town's Mammoth Statue and a bicycle rental point for exploring further. The Kamnik Museum, with its exhibits on local history, crafts and Alpine traditions, is the same 10 minutes on foot, and the Renaissance-era Zaprice Castle, with panoramic views and ethnographic collections, is a 15-minute walk.

Further out, the Velika Planina plateau, with its Alpine pastures and traditional herdsmen's huts, is a 15-minute drive plus a cable car ride up. Terme Snovik spa, with its thermal pools and forest surroundings, and the Arboretum, good for a slow wander through lowland flora before the climb to a hilltop fortress viewpoint, are both a 10-minute drive. Ljubljana's Jože Pučnik Airport is around 25 minutes away by car.
