Santorini's volcanic history has led to the formation of some of the more unique beaches in the Greek Isles, and Kamari is no exception. Sitting about 4 miles southeast of Fira on the island's east coast, this stretch of black sand is one of the largest in Santorini. The beach is backed by the town of its namesake, a popular resort area where you'll find numerous hotels, restaurants, beachside bars and shops. On the beach, visitors can take advantage of the available lounge chairs and umbrellas.
Travelers enjoyed the clear blue waters of Kamari and suggested planting your feet towards the southern portion of the shore. That's because the views of the imposing Mesa Vouno hill, where you can find Ancient Thira, makes for a picture-perfect Greek beach setting. No matter where you decide to kick back on Kamari Beach, travelers strongly suggest bringing protective footwear. The sand and pebbly terrain can get quite hot with the sun beating down on it, especially after a couple hours, so bring sandals if you're hoping to spend the day on the beach. Some visitors even suggested bringing water shoes, commenting that the underwater terrain at the shore quickly goes from sand to slippery solid rock.

"Very close to the airport (10 mins drive) and to the beach (7 mins walk). Family run business so they are very nice and welcoming. Pool area was clean and breakfast was basic but adequate. Bathroom hot water pressure is quite low so difficult so have a proper shower. Bathroom a bit dated. Kitchen was quite small and only very basic amenities. (No microwave or oven). Lastly, didn’t expect the fourth (single) bed to be the kitchen but worked to accommodate 4 guest."

"Fantastic apartment with a mountain view while seating in your jacuzzi, very clean. The host was amazing if we needed any help he would get it done straight away. Great location 10 minute walk to kamari beach with restaurants and grocery. And 12 min by bus to fira, we will definitely book there again. I would Definitely recommend."

"This place was definitely not as the website made it appear. The room was very basic and the shower leaked everywhere. The best aspect was the guy that runs it, as he helps you out with everything. The morning breakfast is just him cooking you up some eggs and stuff. The location was perfect though as you are two blocks from Kamari Beach and there are a couple of awesome sports bars nearby, plus restaurants."

"The moment we arrived we were met by a staff member that carried our very heavy bags down the steps to reception. We were greeted by Penny and Sofia who offered us a glass of wine and then showed us down more steps to our beautiful room. It was so much better than I had expected. The view was beyond belief! A bottle of wine of our choice was brought to our room along with a menu for breakfast that was delivered right on time each morning. The breakfast was amazing. The rooms was spotless and well appointed. The day we left our departure as at 4am. A large, cold breakfast was delivered along with coffee and tea at 3:15 and again our bags were carried to our rental car. You could not ask for a better value for your money. There are so many places to see in this world, that I am not sure I will return to Santorini, but if I do I will stay at Absolute Bliss!"
