"Easy and free self-parking was our first favorite perk! We were greeted by super helpful parking staff and were lucky to check in a little early after being told by front desk when I called earlier that they do not offer early check in. The front desk staff was helpful as well- for some reason I was assigned an ADA accessible room when I made my reservation online and the staff was able to accommodate a change for us and put our family in a regular room so someone that actually needs this type of room can take it. Our suite was a good size with two comfortable beds. We had everything we needed if we needed if we wanted to cook a meal in our suite. We had a great area to lounge along with a beautiful view from our balcony. We were told that we would only get our room cleaned once- which is totally okay, however we were pleasantly surprised to have our room serviced a few times during our stay. Breakfast was great for us as the hotel offered a morning buffet with variety. The hotel’s private use beach area was great along with the pools. They could use a few more umbrellas in the pool area for the pool loungers and the use of chairs for the beach should be complimentary like most other hotels- it was $15 a day, per person to use the chairs. Only nuisance was the concierge/sales staff. I had excessive calls/emails trying to set up a time share presentation while we were out trying to enjoy our day. I told the individual that I was at the beach and she continued to call."

"No cleaning service which isn’t bad unless you want them bugging you. Order your own bathroom supplies and they bring it right to you. Stop and get some food cause it’s a full kitchen. They didn’t give good directions to the second underground parking. Fun place staff was great"

"The Whaler is a beautiful place to stay, the rooms are really nice, kept up to date, clean, the property is immaculate, it has a great pool, and the beach is amazing. It really is paradise! We had a perfect view of the beach and the staff is friendly and accomadating, Ann was great and helped make my Mom and I's stay extra special. Thank you:)"

"I booked an Ocean View room at Royal Lahaina Resort, but the room we received only had a partial side-view of the ocean from the right side of the building. In my opinion, this should not be advertised or sold as a true ocean view room. When someone books ocean view, they expect the ocean to be clearly visible from the room, not only from an angle. Unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing, especially because we informed the hotel in advance that we were celebrating our honeymoon. The hotel acknowledged our email and said they would do their best to make our stay memorable. However, when we arrived, there was absolutely nothing special in the room, and the view immediately killed the excitement for both me and my wife. It truly felt like the wrong decision to book this property for such an important occasion. The room itself did not feel modern or luxurious. Amenities were very basic, and the coffee machine in the room was filthy, which was unacceptable for a resort that presents itself as a 4-star property. The service also did not meet expectations. Several staff members at the front desk and around the resort came across as rude and unwelcoming. A resort at this level should train staff properly on how to speak to guests with respect and hospitality. Based on my experience, this does not feel like a true 4-star resort. It feels heavily marketed online, but the actual guest experience did not match the expectations created during booking."
