This condo is on the south west corner of the building which means you will not only have the gorgeous west ocean views but the unobstructed south facing ocean shore views as well. Standing at the window, you feel as though you are floating above the ocean with views of Black Rock and Lanai to the South and Molokai to the North. Watch the whales from December through mid April right from the living room chairs or the lanai. (seriously!)..... This condo features a bright, classic Hawaiian feel. You didn't travel across the Pacific Ocean to stay in an apartment that looks like home did you? The backsplash tile is an artisan hand drawn and carved Hawaiian landscape with gorgeous sun, waves and flowers. The counter tops are black absolute granite and the cabinets have a luxurious, tasteful tropical feel. All appliances are top of the line, including the SubZero refrigerator/freezer. The whole unit has a sand colored floor tile and new designer area carpets in the living room and both bedrooms. The living room furniture has ultra comfy Tommy Bahama swivel window chairs and sofa - you wont be able to resist taking a nap on this luxurious couch while you listen to the waves crash on the beach below! Condo amenities include a full kitchen, air conditioning, dishwasher, microwave, flat screen smart televisions in the living room and master bedroom, free WiFi and a washer/dryer. Enjoy the sunset each evening on the private lanai. The Mahana also has a heated pool, hot tub, a tennis court, pickle ball and shuffleboard. There are tennis racquets in the condo for our guests to use, along with beach chairs, coolers and various other fun items for sand and pool. Amazing soft sand for walks and beautiful coral reef for incredible snorkeling are right outside the door. In fact you only need to look out the window to see one of my favorite spots to snorkel. If the water is calm, get on your suit and you will be there in minutes! Duke's Beach House Restaurant is an easy walk (you can see Duke's from the south-facing windows in the condo), as well as many other resort and local restaurants. Resort amenities include free WiFi, tennis courts, swimming pool, hot tub, pool towel service, shuffleboard and a barbecue area. The shopping complex across the street has a wonderful grocery store, subway, pizza, coffee.....Even a place for manicures! Only a few blocks north and you will find the Farmers Market, Snorkel Bobs, the Fish Market and many apparel and souvenir shops. This property is very unique on Maui - although there are many beautiful places to stay, luxury ocean front properties like this are hard to find! Please - Before you send a reservation request, consider the dates your are requesting and any gaps between existing reservations that may be created by your dates. If you have flexibility with your dates, an inquiry or suggestion of flexibility before an online reservation request is sent is most helpful! I usually require a 5 night minimum - I generally stay away from creating gaps with less than 5 nights. Exceptions do and will occur though, when I have vacancies within 30 days. This property is scheduled to have the roof replaced with work beginning May 3 through Mid July. The building's central AC will not be working, but we have installed portable AC units for each room. There may be periods that the water will need to be turned off, this will be short in duration. There also may be intermittent noise during the work day. Since this is a corner unit, the views from the condo are almost surreal. It feels like you are on top of the ocean. We watched turtles and a seal swim in the waters directly below us and the access to the beach is so easy. There is a great boardwalk for walking and of course walking on the beach with the large Hawaiian waves was a highlight. There are many great restaurants within a 10-minute drive or if you prefer, cook your own meal in this well appointed room. The room has beach chairs and many other amenities for the beach. I particularly enjoyed having access to snorkel gear, beach bag, chairs, and other nice to have items.There is a great snorkeling right from the beach as well. A nice food truck area with great options restaurants nearby, and a decent swimming pool and hot tub.I can understand when reading the reviews that people said they often visited again and again. It was clean, comfortable, and the view was incredible. Check in went flawlessly--Charles, the on island point of contact was extremely responsive. It had everything you could think of that you might need for the beach--4 chairs, 2 umbrellas, a bag etc. The air conditioning did go out one night but it was the entire building, not just 919 so there was nothing to be done. There’s so much to love, it’s almost overwhelming. The view? Incredible. You can even see Duke’s restaurant from the condo! Beach access? Couldn’t be easier. The in-unit washer and dryer were total game changers for our weeklong stay, and the towel service was one of our favorite perks—we always had fresh, clean beach towels without the hassle of drying or packing up wet ones. So easy.The condo was fully stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen, plus all the beach gear you could ask for. We also loved being within walking distance of Whalers Village—about a 45-minute scenic walk along the boardwalk or a quick drive. Don’t miss the shaved ice at Vintage Island while you’re there—we literally stopped by every day. It's everything advertised and more. The view is not just great for Hawaii, but world-class. You couldn't be closer to the ocean and to have a panoramic view of other Islands as well as Maui and the Ocean is terrific. We saw whales every day from the unit, and turtles or seals most days. There is a decent surfing break out front when the swell is up and you can get to a pretty good beach entry by walking down a little (the beach out front is beautiful but there is reef if you want to enter the water). The unit is very well stocked on both toys and dishes/utensils and the communication with the manager was terrific. The unit is clean and well- decorated with local art for an upscale island vibe. This was the perfect condo for our mother-daughters trip! The beautiful photos in the Mahana 919 listing don't do it justice. We loved the spectacular views in three directions from all the floor-to-ceiling windows, the fabulous location at the end of the beachwalk (we walked here every day!), the well-appointed bathrooms and bedrooms and well-stocked kitchen and laundry area, and the easy access to a pristine beach within steps of the property. Honestly, there were days the car stayed parked, as everything we wanted was within walking distance! Not only was the condo amazing, but both Heather and manager Charles were pro-active in offering assistance, easy to contact, and very happy to help. You want to have it be comfortable, convenient, and why not add in a bit of luxury? This was our first trip to Maui. We have a family of 5 with children aged from 16 to 21\. The immediate access to an incredible beach that is an amazing snorkel spot (wanna swim with sea turtles every day?) was key, but there was plenty of opportunity to relax inside the fully equipped space, sit on the balcony and watch whales (with coffee in the morning) or take a walk down the beach walk path with access to restaurants and shopping. The views from the condo are incredible and it was hard to put our cameras away the entire trip because it just doesn’t get old.
