Great views
Older home that needs a few upgrades, but well equipped. Could use a "facelift" but great views and very private and quiet. Would definitely rent it again.

Great Location, Great View, Great Home
Everything was very clean. The home is aged but a great clean space to spend a week watching sunsets over the ocean. Seals and otters on the dock in the morning, fishing we caught nothing but seaweed, caught crabs, and all appliances, laundry, bbq worked and well stocked for family meals of 8. Definitely recommended if you don't mind the winding road in and steep driveway. The property is in a cell phone roaming location though, but wifi works great.

Great place for the family to relax
This secluded paradise is perfect for a family get a way to just relax and hang out together. It is so close to hiking as an afternoon break from just laying out in the back yard. Nature everywhere was a refreshing break from daily life. Would highly recommend this property.

Very secluded, great view, lots of yard space, great dock (crab traps supplied), house very well equipped (they thought of everything!), close to hiking trails. Very enjoyable weekend with sons, daughter in laws and grandkids.

We loved this place!
If you love being in nature and away from crowds, this is an amazing place! There was a great view of the harbor and we could see otters playing on the dock and bald eagles flying around every day, not to mention great sunsets and stargazing. There is a big yard, the beds were comfy and the kitchen was functional, making a "stay at home" day fun too. It is a bit out in the country, meaning going to many sites is a bit of a drive on a very winding road, but there is plenty of hiking nearby. The property manager was very helpful, coordinating our rather late arrival and also solving a disconnect with the gazebo key expeditiously. Our younger 20ish group members loved the "connected" duplex, though note there is not a pass through between that and the main house (have to go outdoors). All in all, we loved the property and we would go again.

The house and suite were very clean. The view was spectacular. We were a group of 6 but there was plenty of room for 2 more. I would highly recommend this house and would love to return.

Amazing experience
My family and I spent 5 nights in this beautiful place. We enjoyed our vacation. The property is a huge, love the back yard overlooking the beach. The masters bedroom is so huge and the view is amazing its a perfect place for our family holiday.

Wonderful views!!
20 min from Sooke on winding roads... However this is a great, peaceful property with spectacular views of the bay! Great sighting of eagles and other prey birds flying nearby. Property manager accessible and quick to answer questions. Could be better stocked for group of 8 (only set of 8 in dishes, cutlery, etc.). We do recommend this property...

We love it!
This property is beautiful! This was our 2nd time at this amazing house and we will come back again. We live in Victoria and it's a gift to be so close to such a lush,secluded, amazing piece of nature. We had the best family time and fun at this house. The communication and welcoming energy from the owners was awesome. We highly reccomend this house to anyone. A peaceful and relaxing time for all. We'll be back! :)

Lovely Family Holiday
We enjoyed greatly our stay and had a lovely three generation family holiday. Our grandchildren explored the area (with adult supervision) and played pirate games. We caught a lot of crabs and enjoyed crab feasts most days. We had our own boat and successful fishing occurred every day. We went to the Spit (beautiful view of it from the property), French Beach, the Potholes and the sandy beach at the park next door. Great experiences for all!

Nice location. Old house.
Big thank you to Candice of EMR. She's super nice and helpful. She made our stay wonderful. Thank you to Candice's mom for helping us too. Super nice ladies. Pros: Beautiful view. House has private dock with 2 crab cages. We caught a lot of crabs for dinner. We didn't catch any fish though. House has huge yard. Saw deers, eagles & quails in the backyard. Cons: House is old and has the moldy old house smell. Needs updating. Some furniture falling apart. Dishwasher was unpredictable. Electrical needs updating. Too many things hooked up to one outlet. Tripped circuit when we tried to plug in our car. Be careful when turning into driveway. Sharp turn and steep drop. Frequent power outages. No generator at house. We were out of power from 4pm - 9pm. We were in the middle of cooking dinner so that was a bummer. 1 member of our group requires a CPAP for sleep. So we were worried cuz BC Hydro said it could take 4-24hrs to recover power. Lucky we got power back after 5hrs.

Great spot!
We had a great time - wonderful remote feeling to the property with trees and water surrounding the house - it felt very private. We had a couple of minor issues with the head and the oven but the management company was absolutely fantastic dealing with them very promptly and efficiently.

We really like the setting of this property with its beautiful views and wildlife. However we less impressed with house itself. The home was clean and the were no issues with any of the appliances or other fixtures, but the house is just very dated and in need of updating .

It was a heavenly week!
The location and wildlife were utterly amazing! I ended up taking more than 1K photos right there on the property. We saw bald eagles (nesting right there), numerous songbirds including wrens, robins, towhees, and more. Families of quail came out every morning and put on quite a show with their dozens of babies. :) There were many rabbits and several juvies. In fact, I was busy admiring 2 juvenile rabbits one morning and suddenly a mink darted out right from under the shrubs next to the patio and chases them! It was quite a site. The black-tail deer were numerous and mostly unafraid of us. We saw seals every morning as well as a couple sea lions. The sea otters come to the small bay to retire at night and were absolutely adorable. I suppose my highlight was the black bear who slowly wandered across the backyard as if he didn't have a care in the world, giving me an amazing photo opp. The house was as advertised if a little dated. The fireplace in the living room was absolutely beautiful and I'd encourage you to use it. If you play piano, the baby grand downstairs has a lovely sound. Negatives?: I had to move the loose and leaning brass footer posts on one of the queen-sized beds every night in order to get around the bed. In all honestly, it's probably just a maintenance issue. The bed was incredibly comfortable though! We did find the kitchen supplies a little lacking. With crab traps on the dock, I'd have expected to find a pot large enough to boil several crabs but there was no such thing. The knives, as with most vacation homes, weren't exactly sharp. We attempted to turn on the heater one evening on a particularly cloudy and cool day but it wouldn't come on. I called EMR Vacation Rentals and they indicated they'd send a maintenance person out. They called back within an hour and said he was very busy and couldn't make it out that day. My parents are in their 70s and they were feeling the chill. For me, personally, an indoor temperature of 60°F is OK but that's what occurred. If you like comfort, stop at the store and get some Charmin bathroom tissue...just friendly advice. :) You'll also need to pick up ice as the refrigerator/freezer combo doesn't have an ice-maker. Do NOT use two showers at once or both folks showering will be quite cold. The hot water heater must be quite small so give it an hour between showers unless you really like a cold shower. Regardless of home issues, this place is all about the location!

Disappointed
Great location....however, very disappointed in that online it was listed as No Pets. Came to find out that owners have had pets in the house. A member of our party of 8 is very sensitive to dander, hair, etc....and staying at the house effected his well-being. We are always looking for No Pet sites and are willing to pay extra for them. I was very disappointed by this misrepresentation.
