An Oceanfront Cottage with Stunning Views and Direct Beach Access
Completely renovated in 2018, this oceanfront log cottage with wraparound deck, large windows, separate viewing platform and pebble beach access oozes seaside charm. Relax by the wood burning fireplace, prepare fresh meals in the new open-concept kitchen (all stainless-steel appliances including dishwasher, quartz countertops and porcelain apron-front sink). Serve up to six at the dining table which features views of the ocean in two directions. Go to sleep in fresh new beds and linens with the soothing sound of the surf. The master bedroom has a queen bed; the loft can be set up as either a king bed or two twins. Small children can sleep on a sofa in the loft or the main sofa in the living room. Ideal for two couples; two adults with two older children and/or two younger children. The all-new bathroom features a deep tub, subway tile and in-floor heating. The large loft includes a sofa and table for puzzles and games or working on your laptop.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean in the private one-acre garden. The view to the southwest is the Olympic Peninsula and mountains, Washington State. The view along the scalloped coast to the northwest is out to the open Pacific Ocean. Whales (grey, humpback, minke and orcas) can occasionally be spotted – migration is between March and October. Sea lions, harbour seals and otters will often rest/play on the rocks along the shoreline. Weasels/rabbits/raccoons and occasionally black bears will pass through the yard. Many birds such as eagles, osprey, jays, loons, robins, kingfishers, gulls and of course our namesake wrens, nest and feed on the property or nearby.
The cottage is perfect as a romantic retreat or a nature lover’s getaway. We have hosted micro-weddings, elopements, honeymoons and anniversaries. It is a great home base for those wishing to hike the nearby Trails (West Coast and Juan de Fuca Trails), to explore the amazing beaches just a stone’s throw away, or to check-out the many attractions in Port Renfrew, Jordan River, Sooke and Victoria.
There is a new automatic power back-up system to ensure your comfort during any disruption in power, as can occur on the Island from time to time.
Note also that there are security cameras on the exterior of the Cottage to allow for investigation of any large property burglaries but there are NO interior cameras and recordings are only viewed in the case of a break-in/burglary. You must notify us in advance if guests other than those listed on the booking will be joining you (maximum of 4 adults). NOTE - we are sorry but we cannot offer exceptions to the no pets policy - we have family members and regular guests with severe allergies

Everything about our stay was amazing! Loved the views, the comfy beds, and spending time with the family by the fire listening to waves crash outside.
The views are just dreamy and the photos provided don't do justice to the fantastic scenery. We loved our time here and enjoyed nearby excursions, hikes and beaches. I highly recommend it!
Another lovely stay at Wren's cottage. It was impeccably clean and cozy. I always give a sigh of contentment when we walk through the door. Although we did not have high expectations for weather, we had crisp clear days and were treated to gorgeous sunsets from the cottage.
Carol was very welcoming, we were pleasantly surprised by the nice gesture of a bottle of champagne and some chocolates for our anniversary. It was a nice added touch. The cabin was amazing. We were disappointed in the weather. Wanted big storms, we had to settle for absolutely beautiful sunny days in January sitting on the beach all day. We stocked up on groceries in Sooke and stayed at the cabin. A very relaxing long weekend. Definitely will be back.
It was a very pleasant stay. We enjoyed our stay. Saw an owl on the first day and a beautiful rainbow on the second day.
The place has all the amenities and is a good escape from the chaos of the city
We enjoyed our stay so much. Well appointed accommodation and still rustic log cabin vibe. We so appreciated the dimmers on the over head lighting. Every detail was obviously well considered and the cabin is lovingly cared for and maintained so well. No dust bunnies anywhere! Also appreciate there were no synthetic fragrance smells that often are present in rentals. The place is very clean, with gorgeous linens, Oh, and the 5 star view!
Clean and cozy with ambiance from the wood stove and the sound of waves against the shore. Spectacular views from the great location near Sooke and nearby parks/public beaches. The private beach access was an unexpected delight complete with adventurous stairway access.
My wife and I held our private wedding ceremony at this cabin and it was the perfect venue. The cabin and surroundings are very peaceful and the private beach was a gorgeous backdrop for photos. We saw seals, otters, and even a curious black bear came to say hello. We can’t wait to come back soon!
Our stay at Wren Cottage was the cherry on top of our lovely vacation. We enjoyed our nights of cribbage by the fireplace and waking up to the breathtaking ocean view. Many slugs were studied by our children, and we were able to appreciate the ocean wildlife from the observation deck. This will be a very fond memory for us to cherish for years to come! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.
We were looking for something that was comfy, but isolated with beach front, great views and access. It’s a lovely location where were able to drive to the few things we wanted to see, and hang out in comfort. Perfect!
This is a wonderful property on the coast of Vancouver Island. The home is clean and modern with all the conveniences. The fireplace kept us warm and cozy during some chilly days. Perfect place to relax your cares away. Would (and will) visit again.
My wife and I cannot say enough good things about this rental cottage. It was our 2nd time visiting and we will definitely be back in the near future. Clean, cozy, perfect size, and great hosts. Loved the wood burning fire place and the privacy of the property. Falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing against the cliffs was such a treat. See you again soon!
when we pulled into the driveway at The Cottage at Wren point and walked up on the deck my jaw dropped… the stunning view and property. we were hard put to want to leave the cabin to go explore elsewhere. i loved sitting down on the little viewing deck watching seals, listening to ocean… the cabin is gorgeous
What an incredible place; the pictures don’t do it justice. From falling asleep to the crashing waves to reading in front of the fire, it couldn’t have been better. Thank you and we will absolutely be back!
