Awsome time in Land of Boulders
Perfect location for early access to Joshua Tree NP. Arrived at LAX at 2pm and got to Rancho Rockotillo just in time to enjoy sunset. About 4 hours with LA traffic. Directions were perfect and an adventure (last few miles up dirt roads). Glad to arrive before dark. Easy access into to well stocked unit. Great host communication. Spent 2 nights and got several trips in/out of Joshua Tree NP. So close we got in before rangers arrived at station to beat any crowds at Skull Rock. Loved location which was like staying in the park amonst boulders. Very lucky with weather. Cold at night but heated up into 80s. Beautiful time with so much in CA blooming. Property has so much varierty of cacti among boulders. Saw lizards and birds. Bonus hot tub amonst the stars. HT was easy to use and clean. Can't wait to return to Rancho Rockotillo some day soon.

Best rental ever
This was the best vacation rental we have ever stayed in. Not only was the house cute and comfy with a great kitchen, but waking up to views of the rocks and clear sky every morning with no sign of other people was amazing. We could see the stars every night from the hot tub and the location was so convenient to get into the national park or go into town for food and exploring. We will definitely be coming back to visit- this place was magical!

Extended Weekend Birthday Get-Away
The Rancho is an amazing location with spectacular views. There's nothing like waking up to the desert scenery and having coffee outside. We would stroll down the path into the desert with our GoPro. We thoroughly enjoyed, and needed, the use of the hot tub after each day of hiking in Joshua Tree National Park. We also greatly appreciated that our hosts responded quickly to our communications. Compared to other VRBO stays at other locations, the Rancho was supplied with towels for the kitchen and bathroom, paper products, shampoos, conditioners and many other items (even finger nail clippers, which I needed)! We would definitely stay here again!

A hidden beauty in the boulders
What a fantastic rental. The beauty just out the back door was splendid! The photos do not do the cabin and the locale justice. We spent our first night exploring out back at sunset. It was a glorious sunset playing hues as a backdrop to the boulders. Very close to the NP entry. Easy to travel into town for dinner or any essentials. We were sad our time came to an end so soon.

Great location!
Weekend getaway to explore Joshua Tree Ntl Park - this cabin was the perfect spot! Rustic but also modern and comfortable, and had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. The trails in back of property provided excellent opportunity for us to peacefully explore away from the crowds of Joshua tree once we had spent two days hiking in the park. This place was so quiet and scerene! Exactly what we needed.

The best panoramic views! Unlike any other place I’ve stayed at. Very isolated in the best way. Host was very attentive and responsive. An authentic Joshua Tree experience. Would stay again.

Wonderful Cabin
We’ve been to the Joshua Tree area a few times and this is a wonderful cabin to stay at. The location in the rocks is wonderful, the night sky is amazing and you are close to both the park and the town.

Touch of heaven in the rocks!
My wife and I were looking for a nice, quiet place near the National Park and Rancho Rockotillo was above and beyond our expectations! The cabin is in a great secluded area with nothing but beautiful rocks and trails in the area and a million stars at night! The pictures on the website are completely accurate as we'd hoped. Laurie is a fantastic host and the one "issue" we had was corrected very, very quickly. Not a bad word to say about the cabin or her! If I was to come back to JT again I would absolutely get the Rancho if it's available.

Joshua Tree Birthday
We had a great time staying at this charming cabin. You are surrounded by the beautiful desert. You can walk right out the back door into great hiking trails filled with wildlife. It was a great place to get away from it all.

Cute little place just outside the park
Super cute and comfortable little place just a mile from Joshua Tree. Check-in was incredibly easy, and the owner is very communicative and helpful. The hot tub was a welcome sight after the drive out and following our longer hikes. Exactly what we needed after a long and snowy Utah winter!

Natural Beauty Abounds
The natural beauty of this property alone is enough to bring us back. Rancho Rockatillo is very close to the park and there are some stellar trails that you can access right out the back door that rival trails that you'll find in the park. We went on a lovely 3 hour hike and saw no one else! The property owners are very responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend!

A beautiful spot to soak up the expansive vista and relax. Our second time staying and it was as wonderful as we remembered. A great spot to stay while enjoying Joshua tree. Waking up to the sun peaking over the rocks, hikes outside the door, and a fantastic hot tub for soaking. Can’t wait to return!

Beautiful stay
This house was perfect for a quick get away with my wife! Nice quick morning hikes in the back yard was perfect for watching the sunrise and preparing ourselves for the longer hikes in Joshua Tree. Included in the property were plenty of cooking supplies, cleaning supplies, food, and hygiene supplies. The property was neat, clean, and full of relaxation. The hosts were very friendly and communicated appropriately with us through our stay which we appreciated! Definitely recommend staying here!

The best
This is my second stay here. Coming to JT, I was looking for a place set among the boulders, and this is the perfect place. Everything was perfect, but the absolute best part: The park was completely jammed, with parking lots full and trails packed. One afternoon, we simply went back and hiked the trails behind the house--the same amazing rock formations as the park, plants, views, but with no one for absolute miles. Planning another stay for the fall!

Perfect private desert get away
We were just delighted by our experience at Rancho Rockotillo and its private location at the edge of the world. The cabin is nicely equipped, cute, and clean. The property is beautiful with the breath taking desert landscape all around you and local wildlife such as sleek looking coyotes and hilarious Gambel's quail wandering past including while we were soaking in the hot tub which made that all the more fun. It really is just outside Joshua Tree National Park which allowed for easy peaceful days. We were there three nights and definitely wished for a few more.

Relaxing Birthday Weekend!
We stayed at Laurie’s Ranch for my 30th birthday weekend and it was perfect. You are so close to the West Joshua Tree entrance that made it so easy to go back and forth to hike each day. The views from the house were gorgeous and we loved watching the sunset. The house had everything you would need for cooking as we made breakfast and dinner each day and used the grill outside too. Laurie was great with communicating leading up to arriving, day of, and before we left. It was a very cozy and relaxing and quiet weekend getaway. And a great place to start enjoying my next decade!

If you are looking to be in the perfect location while visiting Joshua Tree this is it. Stepping away from the world and getting back to nature is right here. Wonderful place with great hosts. If you want to “step” out into the park here is where you want to stay. And the hot tub is fabulous.

Amazing retreat in the rocks
Stayed at the Rancho with my girlfriend for six nights. It was a fantastic spot to be for so long, the kitchen was fully equipped and there were plenty of condiments. The shower was simply amazing. The property is in a beautiful section of rocks and the hiking trail that leads to the National Park was wonderful. It truly felt like a retreat. I would recommend this to everyone, nothing quite like relaxing in a hot tub surrounded by boulders and listening to the coyotes in the distance howl at the full moon. Thank you, Laurie for being an amazing host!

The light is magical in this wonderland of boulders and Joshua trees. The house is charming, with dozens of details that make it feel like a real home. We hiked on the nearby trails, visited the park, sat on the deck at sunset, where we saw quail and hares, and soaked under the stars in the jacuzzi. We can’t wait to come back!

Fabulous private location in Joshua Tree
We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Rancho Rockotillo. It is perfect for a couple although it’s can sleep more if you don’t require privacy. It is located at the top of a hill and the views and solitude are amazing. The businesses in the quaint town of Joshua Tree are just a short 10-15 minute drive and we enjoyed going to Joshua Tree Coffee Company for our morning coffee even though the kitchen was well stocked for making coffee. The first night we arrived late and were happy to find the fun restaurant at the bottom of the hill, The Joshua Tree Saloon, was open late. The property host, Laurie, was super welcoming and made us feel at home.

LOVED my stay here! Laurie was a fantastic host, so welcoming and accommodating to a last minute change on our end. Can't recommend their place enough, with a great hiking trail from the backyard. Perfect Getaway
Evrything about this place is amazing. Laurie was very friendly and helpful. The perfect location, clean and cozy. This was my first time in Joshua tree and I think this will be the place we stay at every visit!

Absolutely beautiful backyard. Its right next to Joshua Tree National Park. Its serene. Host Laurie is very thoughtful and provide all info for the stay. Late evening walking in the backyard was a unique experience for us. Stargazing while sitting in the Jacuzzi was so nice. It was so peaceful at night. We saw quail, kit fox, desert rabbit with big ears. My wife and i really enjoy our 3 nights stay at Rancho Rockotillo. Highly recommended. We will revisit next time. Thanks Laurie.

My Wife Wants To Move Here
Perfect location for day trips into Joshua Tree National Park. Recoup in the hot tub after a long day of hiking. Lay in the hammock at night looking at stars. Catch glimpses of partridges with their young! Use the grill and full kitchen for meals. Head into the city of Joshua Tree to Crossroads Cafe and Joshua Tree Saloon. Five stars for cleanliness and security.

Perfect Place!
My newly wed husband and I started our honeymoon in Joshua Tree. This place bar far exceeded out expectations! The craftmanship of the home, the hot tub, the bathroom, not to mention the ever so understanding hosts were available to answer any questions we had! The peaceful, quiet desert was exactly what we needed to escape our day to day and get back in touch with each other and mother nature. The house is only a quick drive to the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, which is where we spent two full days. Then had fun exploring the rocks in the back yard as well as watching the sunset each night over the rock mountain was the most beautiful sight. The mother and baby quail, cacti, Joshua tree, really everything you could want in one place! This place is amazing and we can't wait to go back!

Amazing place!
We booked this property specifically for the backyard view and privacy and we were not disappointed! It was an absolutely amazing place to kick off our vacation/wedding anniversary. The house itself is great and has everything you would need. The hot tub was the perfect was to end each day and star gaze. We really liked that it was in the back of the little neighborhood so it felt more private when you were outside. The view and the yard were absolutely beautiful! I loved just sitting out there or walking around and just taking it all in. Laurie was a great host! She immediately reached out and sent all the info needed just a few minutes after I booked and she stayed in touch during our stay to make sure all was good and give any info needed about checking out. I HIGHLY recommend this property. It’s also super close to the one entrance of Joshua tree park

Great Location and a beautiful setting.
A friend and I have been camping in Joshua Tree for years. Unfortunately, his back no longer allows him to camp out, and we found this a perfect alternative. Thank you.

Charming cozy JTree Studio
Just as pictured, except the pictures can’t quite capture the views. We hiked every day and returned to have a glass of wine, watches the sunset, and soak in the tub. Laurie was communicative and kind. We appreciated the fresh flowers left for us. The Wi-Fi connection is very poor so you will just need to surrender, unplug, and be where you are, which is in a stunning locale.

Thanks Michelle - so happy you had amazing hiking and hot tub experiences at the Rancho - yes, the views are incredible! Please note that we have the best internet service provider in the area, but unfortunately sometimes there are issues and you happened to be there during one. Hope your little baby enjoyed the stay as well!

In the BOULDERS
This place is special. Nice dirt road ride into the base of several boulder mountains. You are IN THE BOULDERS not just looking at them from a distance as many of the other VRBO's in the area. Jack rabbits, coyotes, owls, hummingbirds and large birds riding the wind currents around the boulder mountains. Beautiful curbless shower and comfortable queen bed. Clean place. Nice hot tub. A perfect spot for relaxation!
Rancho Rockotillo provided the perfect balance of relaxation and close access to the National Park for exploration. The patio and hot tub provided views of the canyon, plenty of bird watching and hiking opportunities. We hope to return soon!
