The Carriage Inn cannot be separated from this history and in a manner of speaking, to be successful, has to contribute physically. It does so remarkably well. You feel the underpinning context when you open the front door and are taken back to another time by the organization of space and the furniture that defines it. The sense of purpose as a statement to the historical context is evident throughout the original house. I was very comfortable and for my brief stay, rewarded with a definable sense of joy."
