On a positive note, the staff were mostly extremely polite, friendly and made us feel quite welcome. However... after arriving, the greeting receptionist could tell us nothing about the surrounding area, despite being a 5-10 minute walk from the main, shop-laden road. The dining/drinks were mediocre to terrible. My bolognese dish had a not-so-fresh/sour aftertaste. My wife and I both left our mixed drinks unfinished after taking a sip. The restaurant's techno music droned on the entire night. The hotel safe in our room did not work (its batteries were dead), water in the room's wash basin drained slowly on our first night and failed to drain at all on the second night (we had to wash our faces in the kitchen area sink). Our room was located down an extremely long walkway (open to the external, outdoor environment). Consequently, the hallway was frozen with night air when we ventured outside of the room. At some point very early the next morning we could hear children playing loudly in the hallway for some time and lastly, the ceiling light from the hallway poured into our room via a translucent window of sorts. We were in awful shape by the time we emerged to catch the hotel shuttle. Oh yes, the shuttle. The shuttle driver was consistently the most surly and unfriendly person in the entire establishment. We opted to take taxis to avoid his needlessly sour disposition. Ultimately we moved to a new hotel and were much happier. We can endure a lot, but we will not be returning
