  • Escape to our rustic lakefront home in Griswold, CT. Our home is on an oversized lot giving you plenty of privacy and space to enjoy the waterfront. Enjoy the beautiful views (the sunsets are particularly spectacular) from multiple outdoor seating areas, the dock, or the 2 firepits. There is also a balcony off of the large king size bedroom. This home rental includes the use of the kayak at no charge.

    The house is direct waterfront on Ashland Lake, a ponded section of the Pachaug River in Griswold, CT. You can fish, swim, kayak, canoe, and more in the extremely picturesque waters right off the grassy backyard of our cottage home. Use our kayak or bring your own if you prefer - you can boat right from our personal dock in the backyard.

    Although you will want to spend as much time as possible enjoying the water and the views we have gone the extra mile to make all aspects of our waterfront house feel like home.

    Inside you will find a game room that is perfect for all ages and a home theater room with a large projector screen. The game room also includes a new bunk bed and a Pac-Man arcade game. The main floor of the lake house includes the living room with a tv and plenty of seating, fully stocked kitchen, full bathroom, a queen sized bedroom, and a king size bedroom which has it's own sitting area, desk, and balcony that overlooks the water. Pets are also welcome with a paid pet fee. 

    Important: Sheets and towels ARE included with your stay. They are washed before and after every guest, feel free to use the laundry room during your stay as needed as well. We also provide a starter pack of paper towels, toilet paper, toiletries, cleaning products, soaps, detergent, sponges, k cups, nespresso pods, and tea!

    This lakehome has so much to offer! Some of the nearby attractions include:
    Buttonwood Farm - known for their ice cream and sunflower fields ~ 10 minutes
    Pachaug State Forest - The largest in the Connecticut state forest system ~ 12 minutes

Great place for a getaway.

We were in the area for a wedding in Connecticut and visiting family in Massachusetts. The location was perfect being in the middle of both events. Its a very quiet neighborhood. All amenities were as stated in the listing. The bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable. We will come back if we are in the area again.bedroom was very cconformable.

Quiet Friends Winter Getaway

We had a cozy and fun girls weekend here. Close enough to Mystic and Niantic for some shopping and dining. Even on a cold winter weekend we had a nice time and had cozy comfy evenings in, enjoying the projector room. Would love to come back in warmer months for a different experience.

Amazing fall location

The sunset over the lake is fantastic and the leaves were all changing. There is a lot of room in the house and it is in great shape and clean. Would recommend for a getaway. It is a long ways from a major city but shopping is not that far away. Very peaceful location

Nice Place for a Getaway

Our family of 2 teens and mother and father stayed in the house with plenty of room. Each kid had their own space and the place was clean and well decorated for the Christmas season which was a nice bonus. The only drawback was the beds were very uncomfortable .

Little Lake House

A decent little house, lots of space and a really nice sized yard on the water. Beautiful view. The owner was very responsive to my concerns when I reached out to her about the cleanliness on our arrival. Our stay was ok- I’m sure it’s great in the summer with kids - the yard looks wonderful.

Overall accommodations were s stated. We booked there because it was the closest place to Foxwoods. We ha to run back and forth. Recommendions: While ther was a spacious yard and lovely view of the lake, the yard a decks could have cleaner.

Lovely lake Retreat!

Beautiful older home with lovely lake accents throughout! Comfortable master bedroom with walk in closet !The furniture in the kitchen and living room were also cozy ! The extensive work on the outside decks is awesome ! We had everything we needed for a wonderful weeks stay ! Our hosts, Mike & Ashleigh , did all they could to make our stay perfect !! Family Escape

Our family enjoyed this lakefront getaway. This property provided space to spend time together and space to have quiet time. The property was clean and well kept and provided all the necessities we needed. This property is convenient to Mystic area and off the busy roads to escape the noise of traffic. Quiet getaway with beautiful water view

Loved the view of the pond from the various outdoor seating areas. The small dock was great for the best view and was fun to see the turtles. So peaceful, reminded us of a bird sanctuary. Michael and Ashleigh were very responsive to any inquiry we made. Kitchen nice size and well equipped for our stay. Especially enjoyed using one of the two fire pits for a relaxing evening under the stars. Thanks so much!
