Wonderful Stay in Nevis
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time on the island. This property is secluded and near many restaurants and beaches. Beautiful home, gardens and pool area. The host was amazing and helped with transfers, local recommendations and ensured our time was spent relaxing. Can't wait to return. Cheers! Chad, Anne and family

Fantastic property and very responsive staff
Property even more picturesque than advertised. Truly special landscaping, with many exotic and beautiful plants. Great view of ocean, very comfortable, very spacious, clean, and modern and literally abutting four seasons golf course. Easy to access four seasons amenities but far roomier and newer accommodations (and a fraction of the price). Prop managers Gareth and Steve super responsive to coordinate transportation and a private chef (very much recommend the chef, Mark, for both the food and stories afterwards, along with is assistant Denise who is a world class jazz singer!). Can be an occasional hiccup as it’s a big house with a lot of systems to maintain, but resolution was rapid (minutes) and responsive. A great value even at this price and a lovely overall stay. Be sure to visit the great restaurants around nevis in the former sugar plantations. Drift, Montpelier, and Golden Rocks were all fantastic locations/views with even better food. Scuba diving in nearby St Kitts also recommended with several shipwrecks. In all, a big thumbs up.

Family Spring Break 2023
Home and amenities were amazing! Our family enjoyed our time at The Retreat. The location and view cannot be compared with any other property on the island. A true gem!!! This was our 4th Trip to Nevis and first time renting a home on Nevis. Our family is already planning our next vacation at the Retreat. The house and property are meticulously clean. Plenty of room throughout the home with multiple seating areas for relaxing or dinner on the patio overlooking the Caribbean. Location is less than 5 minute drive from the Four Seasons, multiple beaches and restaurants. The Retreat also offers beautiful landscapes gardens, large pool, spa and gazebo. Our family enjoyed the daily afternoon visit from the Vervet Monkeys on the island. A bonus was a workout room in the home. The Property Manager, Steve and our driver, Hollywood made the trip special. Steve would check in on us to make sure everything was perfect during our stay and Hollywood was available to drive us anywhere on the island within a moments notice. A nice touch was the owners of The Retreat reaching out to us at the beginning and during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed to make our trip special. Thanks again to all for making our family vacation memorable! We cannot wait for our next trip to Nevis and our stay at The Retreat.

Three Master Suites With Privacy
We enjoyed our stay at The Retreat! The house easily accommodated three adult couples with privacy for all. The house and property are kept very clean and the many different seating areas were perfect for six of us. The location is excellent with great views.

Exceptional Luxury Villa, Fabulous Vacation!
The Retreat is an amazing villa! Located a 5 minute drive from the Four Seasons and Pinneys Beach (and of course Sunshines’), the Retreat offers spectacular ocean and mountain views, luscious landscaped gardens, a huge luxurious pool and spa and gazebo, and a gorgeous outdoor patio and veranda to enjoy your morning coffee and drinks and dinner. The photos are gorgeous but the actual property is more spectacular. My family of 5 adults enjoyed the privacy of the 3 spacious bedrooms (2 en suite) on two levels and the open and airy layout of the common areas on both floors. There are multiple TVs, Cable, Netflix and other streaming services as well as a sophisticated music system accessible via Sonos. The gym in the villa was handy as well! The huge modern kitchen was equipped with the latest modern high end equipment and appliances and stocked with all the basics as well as a curated package of food basics. Gareth is an incredibly gracious owner; communication was fast and easy. He was truly vested in ensuring that my family had a great time! His property manager Steve was extraordinarily helpful in showing us around the property and setting up dinners (including a private in home chef and multiple dinners at island restaurants) and excursions for us and was super attentive and pro active. And of course their driver of choice, the island famous Hollywood, was an incredible guide for the island and its history, and provided outstanding transportation services. He made it easy to get around. Private transport from st Kitts airport to the water taxi to the Retreat were all arranged by Gareth and went very smoothly. The level of service was on par with the Four Seasons. A truly memorable experience! Thank you Gareth and Team!

The Retreat
Villa Helona Sun enjoys an elevated position and wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding hillside and the Ionian Sea. This 3 bedroom villa has stylish furnishings throughout, a large pool and a fabulous terrace overlooking the stunning scenery. The resort of St Thomas with its large selection of bars, tavernas and shops, is just a short drive away. What's more you'll have a choice of 2 sandy beaches just 5 minutes' drive away. Excellent WiFi and air conditioning/heating in all the bedrooms and lounge are included.The manager is exceptional as are the housekeeping you could not want for better

An Amazing Week at the Retreat
The Retreat was glorious! LOVED the layout, decor, cleanliness and amenities. The pool was to die for and we spent hours in the cabana enjoying coffee in the early hours and cocktails later in the day. Beds were comfortable and we had all the amenities one could ask for. We sincerely appreciate all that you did to navigate the changing landscape of Covid to make it happen. Our 24 hr Quarantine was easy as Sunday sported a F1 racing event that glued our kids to the TV and allowed my husband and I to decompress after the stress of getting out of the US and into Nevis with all the Covid testing insanity. Activities that stood out included the awesome sail with Miles and Brian that included a snorkeling experience near St. Kitts and the Nevis peak hike. The sail was awesome- something we would do again in a heartbeat. Our 20-something y.o. children also put in a plug for the tasty rum punch! The Nevis peak adventure was certainly one we will never forget. Two nights before the hike it rained leading to extremely wet, slippery and muddy conditions. Arriving at the trail head our guide grouped us with a very friendly, enjoyable young Scotsmen who was training for Kilimanjaro! Needless to say, my husband and I were a bit out of our league! Regardless, we survived the 5+ hr slog and happily checked this off our bucket list, but admittedly our 20-something’s said they would do it again. A few restaurants that stood out included an incredible lunch and exploration of grounds at Golden Rock, a fun experience and fabulous food at Bananas and a final dinner decked out for the holiday season (including the bartender special drink of the day) at Montpellier plantations. Wow -well worth the drives sharing the roads with the goats, donkeys and cows! You have done an incredible job creating a beautiful retreat. Only suggestion for improvement would be a list of beaches to visit or places to walk and a local listing of places to buy groceries, wine, and necessities to provide to guests as it was hard to get this on line. We are grateful for the experience we had at your Retreat! Thank you from our family!

Lorah It was great having you stay with us. Thank you for your lovely comments. Next time you’ll need to ensure you bring your most extreme trail shoes and cheapest t shirts for the peak hike! My fault entirely you didn’t get a copy of the guide I have for the beaches/ dining/ activities etc. I forgot to update and print it for the new season. Updated guide for 2022 already in hand! A splendid second visit and we will be back for more!
March 2020 was my family's second visit to The Retreat, our first being two years earlier. There are so many INCREDIBLY positive elements to staying there. First, the owner, Gareth, is sincerely vested in ensuring his guests have a memorable stay. From suggestions on food and wine, to spa treatments and professionally cooked meals, to updates made to the home, to convenient and economical driver's service, he proactively offers advice and recommendations that are 100% for the benefit of his guests. The timing and quality of Gareth's communications are impeccable. Second, the quality, amenities and aesthetics of the home itself are hands-down the best we have experienced (we book through VRBO three to six times a year and have done so for 10 years). The location and ocean/sunset views are mesmerizing. The amenities and finishes in the home are first-rate. The pool is remarkable!!! The grounds are spectacular. The bedding comfortable. The home is spotless. I find myself saying while there, "There is not one thing I would change if I owned this place". And finally, the people of Nevis are so nice and friendly, with excellent restaurants and local artisans. They truly want to serve their tourists/guests and it shows in every interaction. The island has much to offer and guests are welcomed to explore when and where they want. We will DEFINITELY be returning to The Retreat. It is a truly magical place. You can book here and be GUARANTEED a vacation whose memories will last a lifetime.

Stay at The Retreat
We have just returned from an extended stay at The Retreat in Nevis. Having traveled to Nevis for over 30 years, we have stayed at numerous properties but none compare to The Retreat. The staff, Sandra and Catherine worked diligently to keep the home sparkling clean. Steve, the property manager checked in frequently to address any needs we might have. Gareth, the property owner takes great pride in assuring that your stay is flawless. The home is very comfortable for a large group or family and includes many amenities found in a five star hotel. Luxury in paradise!
The property is quite frankly stunning. Finished to an incredibly high spec, with amazing AV and tech throughout. You'd struggle to find such a slick property anywhere in the world, let alone one on a tropical island! The property is set on a very quiet road and extremely private, so on your days spent by the pool you can expect total relaxation. The owner couldn't have been more helpful in getting us prepared for our trip and we felt completely cared for throughout with a great local experience manager who sorted everything we needed out locally from a private chef, snorkeling to dinner reservations. I especially loved being able to pre-order wine that was ready and waiting for us in the wine fridge when we arrived. A great selection available at great prices. Very nice touch. When can I book again?

Paradise!
The villa itself and surrounding pool / grounds are fantastic - you may not want to ever leave. The view to the water is drop-dead gorgeous. The house is large, clean and well maintained with lots of useful technology including music and high speed internet everywhere inside and out. The gym downstairs was a nice touch as well. On top of all of this Gareth and Steve (local manager) were fantastic hosts -- available around the clock as needed and full of great information and advice. We'll be back for sure!

Beautiful, Very Special Villa
The Retreat is just beautiful, inside and out. Our experience was that the Villa was very much like staying in a luxury hotel, along with the benefit of total privacy. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked , the view is amazing and there are several different outdoor areas where you can gather as a group or find a beautiful corner to for some quiet time. The owner, Gareth is extremely responsive and easy to deal with, as is the entire staff. I highly recommend The Retreat. We had a fabulous time and it really is as beautiful as it looks on the website. A very special place for sure.

The Retreat
We enjoyed our stay at The Retreat from April 13-23rd. Gareth the owner and property manager Steve were both easy to deal with and very helpful. Gareth is very quick to respond to any questions. The house is beautiful, well kept and spacious. It is located just above the four seasons golf course and is quiet and pleasant to unwind and relax at.. The pool and ocean views were beautiful and as previously stated in several reviews, the pictures do not do them justice. The house was well stocked with all needed kitchen supplies and bathrooms with plenty of towels and bathrobes. The Sonos system throughout house is wonderful and works all the lights, music blinds and thermostat. I especially enjoyed eating breakfast out on the upper porch over looking pool with ocean view while watching the hummingbirds and monkeys. We used a driver for the week. Highly recommend this. Hollywood was wonderful and very polite and friendly. The island of Nevis is quiet and beautiful without the hustle and bustle of cruise ships and constant peddlers. We enjoyed the beautiful beaches and dinners as well as breakfast at several old sugar plantations including Golden Rock and Hermitage Plantation. Sunshine’s and Limes was also enjoyable for lunch at the beach. But our favorite beaches were at The Yachtsman where they had nice loungers and great lunch. We also liked Cades beach and resteraunt I also highly recommend a personal power cat boat snorkel trip rather than Catamaran. We did both and the snorkel with private guide far surpassed the catarman trip. I highly recommend The Retreat. The house was everything it advertised to be and more, the transfers were all arranged and quite easy and the house is located high enough in the hills to enjoy the views and mountain ( hill) side of island and then short drive down to enjoy the beach. So you get the best Of both worlds.

Wow, breathtaking home, view & gardens.
A stunning property with a fantastic panoramic view, the web pictures don’t do it justice and a lush garden beautifully landscaped that is a delight to walk through & watch monkeys & hummingbirds etc. Breakfast, lunch or dinner on the terrace is a joy! Every comfort is catered for & there is also a very well equipped kitchen or for an extra special treat it can be arranged for a chef to come & cook dinner at the house, a fabulous experience & one we will remember. The quality of the surround sound system is sublime & adds to the ambience. It certainly is a retreat where you can unwind, swim, sunbathe etc as well as having easy access to other island activities & the beach. The feeling of space, light & freedom abound. A magical place to celebrate my Mum’s 80th. The owner Gareth & house manager Steve aim to make sure all your needs are met. Just switch to island time & relax. We would love to return. Paradise
This house is fantastic in every way. The views are gorgeous and the pool is perfect. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and well appointed. Beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need including a great espresso machine. The house was stocked with plenty of beer and terrific wines. The house is very modern, with dedicated control services in every room. Decor is modern and tasteful. Gareth is wonderful- very responsive and helpful with every question and concern. He was attentive to every detail throughout our stay. We could not have asked for a better host. On island, our driver and house manager were excellent. We enjoyed spending time with them and exploring Nevis. Their kindness and hospitality were heartwarming. I highly recommend The Retreat and would return tomorrow if I could. This property is one of a kind, and Gareth and his crew are exceptional.

Beautiful home, beautiful island, carefree vacation.
The home is beautiful and very well taken care of. The pictures, while accurate, don't really do it justice. We were blown away as we entered at dusk into the private gate, the landscaping all lit up, and the large beautiful home at the top of the property. The pool area is also large with comfortable sun chairs and a gazebo to get out of the sun. Every detail has been thought of, from the small refrigerator in the gazebo, the stairs that completely light up at night, the huge grill for cooking, the various tables and sitting areas throughout the home and deck area, and the sonos that you can control all over the home and pool. The bedrooms are all very nice with comfortable beds and each with a private bath. Perfect for us as we were three couples. But besides the property, the level of care that we received was over the top. The owner emailed me continually before we went offering me options to enhance our experience. So when we arrived, he had someone picking us up at the airport, driving us to a private boat that transported us to Nevis. In Nevis, there was someone to pick us up and bring us to the home. Steve, the property manager was there to let us in, show us everything and was" on call " to us as well as stopping by often to make sure everything was OK. He had the home stocked with basic food that we had selected as well as the wine refrigerator filled with our favorite wines. Everything was taken care of! We also used BaBa, the driver and tour guide, for our driver for the entire week. He gave us a tour of the island as we'll as bringing us to different beaches and different restaurants in the evenings. We loved his service also. All in all, a perfect stay and I would highly recommend it.

Spectacular!
The Retreat is an amazing property! We spent a week enjoying all the luxuries ... the beautifully decorated home, the pool and fountain, the spectacular sound system and the terrace! Best stay ever!!
Words cannot describe how much I fell in love with this property. From the moment you arrive and the gate opens the house just screams luxury. We were originally going to stay at the Four Seasons Resort until I decided to book the house. Best decision ever! Gareth, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with and made sure we had everything we desired prior to our arrival. The welcome packet describes everything you need to know about the property and the island with some great suggestions for dining, activities and relaxation. The house is luxurious and comfortable all at the same time. The deck, veranda, bbq area, pool, music inside and out and the garden offer so many places for you to relax together and find time alone. The layout of the house is perfect for everyone to have privacy. We were there for a wedding and our house quickly became the after-party house. Everyone was so impressed with how stunning it was. Steve, the house manager, was always available and tended to all your needs. I truly can't say enough about this house except I can't wait to go back!!!

modern, private, spa-like home with incredible views!
My family, including two teen children, just got back from a relaxing week at The Retreat. It exceeded all of our expectations. First, the house was amazing. The design is stunning, it is quite large, and has every possible modern convenience, including Sonos surround sound in every room and outside. The beds were extremely comfortable, the bathrooms were spa-like, the kitchen was well appointed, and we are still talking about the incredible outdoor grill! Pictures cannot do the pool, the landscaping, and the view justice… we were pinching ourselves the whole time. The location is also ideal. It is close to the Four Seasons golf course, where we went running in the AM but it is extremely private. It truly feels like a “retreat”. Our biggest problem was trying to decide where to have evening cocktails: the upstairs patio, poolside, or in the gazebo. Gareth the owner clearly has a travelers needs in mind. The house was stocked with breakfast and drink items and we could pre-order wines (and Gin) from a great list which were there upon arrival. Steve the manager was incredibly helpful and knows everyone on the island. He arranged everything for us including restaurant reservations, jet ski rentals, guided bike rides and hiking tours, and found us some locally caught mahi that we cooked on that great grill. We have travelled extensively but have never been to Nevis. The island is one of the most friendly and laid-back islands that we have been to. In addition to all of the relaxing and/or fun outdoor activities, we had several very special dinner experiences on the beach and at the converted sugar plantation restaurants. We can’t wait to go back!

Amazing views, fantastic location, great staff & beautiful house - overall a great family house
We had a great week at The Retreat on Nevis. The location is great - close to most restaurants, and the Four Seasons, where we had some tennis lessons and lunches & used the beach a few times. The owner was in touch with us from the moment we booked, giving us information and asking how he could make our stay better. The caretaker/manager Steve set up all of our dinner reservations as well as fishing and catamaran trips, and was right on the spot when my daughter fell and needed stitches -- taking us to the doctor's office and pharmacy and making sure we had everything we needed. The views from the property are spectacular, and the house has every modern convenience. Steve also stocked the house with groceries before our arrival which made breakfasts and snacks easy from the first day on. Watching monkeys and goats out the windows was a highlight for the kids. Nevis is a very laid back, friendly island with lots to do. Previously we had stayed at the Four Seasons and this time wanted a bigger space. The Retreat was fantastic and we would definitely go back!

Beautiful villa, great service!
We’ve just returned from a week at The Retreat. We can’t say enough about Gareth and Steve. They were incredibly attentive to our needs throughout the trip and ensured that every detail was attended to. We have been renting villas in the Caribbean for years and this was by far the best in terms of amenities and service. The villa is gorgeous and the setting is stunning but the people make the difference. Beyond the wonderful service we received from Gareth and Steve, the Nevision people are lovely and so warm and welcoming. Everywhere you go, the food is fabulous. We visited a different restaurant each day and were disappointed only once (avoid the Coral Gril, at the Four Seasons!) If you like to cook at home, definitely get some fresh caught wahoo from Charlie, the local spear fisherman, and have Steve get you some local lobster, if in season. We love authentic places where the local culture is preserved and restaurants, beaches, etc. are shared by locals and visitors alike. Nevis does not disappoint in this regard...if you are a fan of places like Anguilla or the BVI, you will love Nevis!

A Truly Relaxing Stay in Nevis!
We had a fantastic time at The Retreat as a family of five with two teenagers. Communication was fantastic, Oliver gave us great recommendations on things to do, and Amelia in particular was fantastic during our stay. I actually commented to my wife that I was surprised that they rented this house out - it was just too nice! Can't recommend The Retreat enough - a truly magnificent place on Nevis!

Spectacular views, luxury , gorgeous pool and fun , fun, fun!
You walk in to The Retreat to a totally gorgeous space with an expanse of windows and a view that is breathtaking . Sundowners on the balcony were wonderful while relaxing in the outdoor space plus a perfect view of the horizon that rewarded us with four green flashes! Amelia was a great source of info as well as Oliver & Naomi before during and after our stay in Nevis. The BBQ area provides one more place to cook some wonderful meals . Fresh fish ( mahi mahi) was provided and then filleted by Chevy and Sean for a great BBQ experience . For an authentic Caribbean meal we had Chevy and Sean come and cook for us and they did not disappoint ! The covered area by the pool is a life saver when it gets too hot with a bar fridge you can just reach in grab a drink and get right back to relaxing. Thanks again Nevis ! See you next year

Perfect
We had a fabulous family vacation at The Retreat. The Retreat itself was so comfortable and well maintained. Amelia welcomed us on the first day and oriented the family to all of the amenities at The Retreat. She was also available throughout our stay if we had any questions. The views from all areas of the property were breathtaking. I have so many pictures of my children exploring the beautiful grounds of The Retreat. The children loved seeing the mokney's playing in the trees throughout the day. The list of restaurants and activities that Oliver and Naomi provided were spot on. We tried almost all of the restaurants and suggested beaches. I don't even think we had a "favorite" because we LOVED them all! We rented a 7 passenger vehicle and it was perfect for our family. We were able to explore all over the island. I only booked the home and asked for a car rental, the rest (transportation to and from airport, groceries, cleaning service) were all provided. This was such a great experience! We highly recommend The Retreat for a family, friend or couples vacation! We are currently looking at dates for our return next year because I'm not sure any vacation will beat Nevis and The Retreat !!

Spectacular!
The Retreat is a very appropriate name for this gem of a property. Situated on the hillside with view of St. Kitts, ocean and beaches, you can be as isolated as you want while still being only 20 minutes away from most of the Nevis hot spots. The house does exceed any descriptions, and while the pictures are good, they struggle to capture the overall beauty and warmth. Amelia does a great job getting you there and acclimated to the setting (makes sure you get some rum punch). Oliver provided great recommendations for restaurants, shopping and things to do. Would recommend having a car. Only 3-5 minutes to Pinneys beach in the car. Walking would be too laborious when you are there just to chill... Mangos restaurant and the 4 Seasons resort is right there. The Yachtsman restaurant and other beaches are right down the road. Or, you can just hang at the house and pool, and catch the morning and afternoon visits from the monkeys! Sonos music set up helps to set the mood at the pool or in the house. The night time serenity is just amazing. Highly recommend this property if you are going Nevis.

Wonderful Family Vacation
My family and I spent a wonderful week at The Retreat. Oliver and Naomi have built a spectacular dream home that could grace the interior of any design magazine. If you're a guy there are gadgets galore and house is completely wired electronically with every modern convenience. Top of line kitchens, baths, pool and bedrooms. The Retreat is perfectly located above the Four Seasons golf course and a 5 minute drive from that hotel. Note during peak times like Christmas/New Year's the resort is closed to all outside guests so don't plan to eat there. Truth is you're better of not eating there as there are wonderful restaurants all around the island. All of the restaurants knew Oliver and Naomi (and the cool house they built). Amelia did a wonderful job arranging all transportation to and from St. Kitts. You 100% need a car if you're staying at The Retreat to go exploring. I highly recommend this villa. It's a much better value and comfort than multiple hotel rooms.
