Go fishing 15 feet from front door, no light pollution, bada$$ outdoor shower, no fuss, had the best neighbors. Perfect chill getaway and the host's are good honest hardworking people I look forward to meeting again!

Getaway
We come back every year. Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle. The fishing is great. Large mouth bass, crappie, and bluegill left and right. Love the Peace and quiet in the evenings. Richard is a great host. Always available if you need anything. We’ll be back next year

Exactly What We Needed!!
This was the perfect spot for relaxation! We enjoyed getting to go out on the kayaks, getting to cook over the fire, and the scenery was beautiful. The host was great, he answered any questions we had and was very friendly! We cannot wait to go back.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

It never disappoints !
This was our second year back and even though it rained for part of our weekend, it didn’t put a damper on our fun. We love it here! It’s a hidden oasis and is perfect for those want to reset. Soak up the fresh air, beautiful scenery, and enjoy the simple things like cooking over an open fire. Can’t wait for next year!

Best camping experience with kids!
Hands-down the best camping experience we have had with kids. Cabins were cute, private, nicely appointed, and well-situated on a lovely lake shore with great kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, and fishing (lots of bass and blue gills were caught by even the youngest of fishermen!). We booked adjacent cabins with some friends, and our kids all had a blast exploring the outdoors together (they especially loved the provided kayaks and paddling out to the pontoon sliding board and floating mat - fun!!). The cabins, beds, showers, bathrooms, and all-around setup were fantastic. And the A/C on a 90 degree day was SO appreciated, especially for sleeping. Thank you so much - we will most definitely be back!

Best vacation spot
I just can't say enough nice things about this property in the owners. This was our second trip, it is our favorite family vacation. We love the chance to unplug from the world and fish and kayak and cook over the fire and bond as a family. And they make it so easy!

Beautiful property!
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. The owners were super attentive and provided everything we could need. The kids loved the kayaks and paddle boards. There is also a lily pad and slide out in the lake for all to enjoy! Thanks for a relaxing and fun mini vacation!

This was a new experience for my family. We wanted to get away and this was perfect. The hosts were magnificent! They made sure that everything was great! Mr. Richard even showed my husband how to make Cowboy Coffee 🙂

Hidden gem
I wish I could give ten stars...this place was perfect. They've gone above and beyond for the ultimate glamping experience! Hot water, clean toilets, providing all the kitchen utensils and cast iron for fire cooking....gadgets for cooking, propane griddle...the list goes on and on. We were terrible at catching any fish...we each caught a small one...but our neighbors who knew more caught some nice sized bass! We spent the time enjoying family. We fished, played games, kayaked forever, rented the job boat. We plan on coming to this hidden gem of a campsite again and again!! And the owners were so kind and available for any needs!

This was such a fun camping experience. Having access to the kayaks, jon boat and paddle boards is a plus. It was fun fishing with the water being so clear you could watch the fish as you were reeling them in. The owners are so nice! We will be looking forward to coming back some day.

Great Stay at Castaway Lake
Our trip was great. The cabins were well built and comfortable. The cookware was all cast-iron, good for using on the fire or the gas grill. It was relaxing to sit by the lake, and the scenery around the water was very pleasant. RIchard and his family were friendly and helpful. A wonderful place to spend with close friends or family.

Wonderful Stay!
We had such a great stay! Richard and Heather were so sweet and accommodating. They really thought of everything when building this getaway! We spent all day outside, used the grill every night, and the kayaks were so much fun as well. We can't wait to come back! : ) I totally recommend this place!

Camping with conveniences!
Let me start by saying we are not campers. We are an elderly retired couple who were looking for a few days of fishing in a natural environment. We got a lot more. This cabin has both modern conveniences -- a refrigerator, A/C, real beds, gas grill --combined with that feeling of going back to a simpler time -- wood stove, front porch, sounds of birds, cicadas and frogs as background music. We found the whole experience refreshing and restorative. We rented the boat (with electric motor) and fished the whole private lake and cooked and ate our catch at night. The cast iron cookware was a nice touch, as was the beautiful wood shower outside. The "outhouse" is a flushing toilet, private and pristine. This property is the realized vision of a creative couple who love the area and want to spread the joy. We found them engaging and hospitable, like meeting two new friends. We had a couple of minor snags the first night and Richard came immediately to fix them. (He built everything from scratch so he knew exactly what to do!) I hope we can return in the fall. I'd like to try the wood stove and the outside fire pit!
