Peaceful Cabin on acres w/ pond by Chautauqua Lake. Hike, fish, ski, & boating!

Unwind at this peaceful oasis. A rustic driveway leads to a log cabin retreat with a front porch, wrap around deck, patio and pergola. These scenic wooded acres include a pond, dock and walking path. An open yard area has a gazebo & fire pit. The unheated sunroom opens to a wrap around deck, furniture and fire table. In the sunroom you’ll find a twin to king daybed perfect for sleeping two more in warm weather. The inside of the house is an open living/dining/kitchen area. 2 BR and 1 bath.

The space
Our year round retreat is under 10 minutes to the city life of Jamestown, NY; including The National Comedy Center, The Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum, and is about 15 minutes to either shore of Chautauqua Lake.

Our completely private property sits on 23 acres with nice big yard and pond. During your stay you could discover your inner peace during any seasons. Come down the rustic driveway to the one floor log cabin with the green roof. The circular drive provides ample parking and the front porch welcomes you.
A self check-in and secured entry at the front door brings you into the cozy and open design kitchen with tile floor. There you’ll find all the basics a refrigerator/freezer, gas stove/oven, microwave, a toaster, pod coffee maker and a pour over coffee maker. Additionally there are dishes, glasses, cups, silverware, etc.

The kitchen bar with stools makes an inviting and entertaining transition to the dining and living area. There you’ll notice the two bedrooms and the bathroom at the rear of the cabin.
The bathroom has a tile floor, a single cabinet sink, an exhaust fan and a shower with a seat and safety bars. There is an outhouse, but it’s only for photo ops and is not a functioning outhouse.
The main bedroom has one queen size bed, two bed side stands with lamps, a ceiling fan, two chairs, and a closet . One window provides a woodland view while the other looks out onto the pergola and across the yard to the pond.
The second bedroom has two twin beds that can be joined together making one king. The room also has a ceiling fan, a night stand with a lamp, two chairs and a small table and a closet.
Returning to the roomy living/dining area there’s a large screen TV with 1Gbps WI-FI. An expanding dining table adapts to your needs, and ample seating for those needs. On the opposite end of the room is a cocktail ottoman, a full size couch and love seat giving plenty of room to relax.
From the dining room you see through the sliding glass door into a large unheated sunroom. There you’ll find inviting furniture including a twin to king trundle day bed perfect for sleeping two more during warmer weather. That makes a total of 6 guests in warm weather only. The entire unheated sunroom has screen and/or glass doors leading to the front porch and to a big deck and pergola. Finally, as you stand there on the deck looking across the green lawn and past the large fire pit you’ll see the half acre pond with a dock. There is a well groomed path around the pond for your adventures. Oh, and there’s a gazebo with electric service near the pond. A perfect place to ponder.

Guest access
THE WOOD STOVE: the wood stove in the living area is not working and is unsafe for use in any way.

THE FIRE PIT: please bring your own firewood to use, do not cut down trees on the property.
You’ll find some firewood and starter scrap near the fire pit. Please don’t use all of our firewood but understand we are providing a bit so you don’t need to gather twigs etc in the woods. Again please bring your own firewood. There can be downed twigs and branches in the yard you can use. (If you do… thanks for the volunteer yard work)

Other things to note
* Bath towels and bedding are not provided. There are kitchen towels available for your use.
* Currently there is no washer or dryer.
* The driveway is maintained and plowed in the winter. The driveway does circle around the rhododendron and the front of the cabin.
* Fire pit can be used. The hose at the back of the house under the pergola will reach the fire pit.
* Walking the property: best for now to stick to yard, pond, deck and house areas
* Wildlife seen on the property include… deer, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, ducks, great blue herons, turtles and even a bear has wondered through.
*There is 1.0 Gbps WI-FI, Large screen TV, Streaming programming.
* Kitchen has most needs covered with some cooking pans, utensils and serving bowls, plates with miscellaneous kitchen items like, foils & wraps, baggies, cleaning products etc.
* No air conditioning. There are two box fans available; but the cabin is most often cool in the summer months.
* There are 3 ceiling fans. One in each bedroom and one in the living/dining area.
* The outhouse: photo op only please. Not for actual use.
* The indoor wood stove is not for use as it is non-functioning and not safe for use.
* The pond: clean to swim, fish, kayak or canoe in and on the pond . It’s clay bottomed, about a half acre and slopes down from wading depth to 3-5 feet at the dock area to reach a center depth of around 9 feet. Lots of bullfrogs.
* Utility room: tankless water system, water shutoff, electric panel, buckets, mop, ladder etc.
* Mud room: there is a trap door to under the house no need to go there. Sump pump is located down there. Should be of no concern.
* Currently there is no washer & dryer.
* Well water is tested and safe to drink and is otherwise safe to use.
* Extension for dining room table is in the closet of the main bedroom.
* The property includes two sheds, but they are not accessible to guests.
