"Very nice home on the water in a quiet neighborhood. Great place to relax and good centralized location for excursions to Traverse city, dunes and other local areas. Check-in process was simple and good wifi access. Kitchen was well equipped with thoughtful welcome items. Great porches/decks surrounding property with a gas grill to cook out. Only drawback was we did not see a place to rent boats or jetskies on lake. I would definitely recommend this property without hesitation. "

"Where do I even begin? From the stunning lake views to the heavenly coconut citrus soap in the bathroom (seriously, it smelled amazing), to the cabinet full of puzzles- every detail of our stay at Hemingway Hideaway was thoughtful and memorable. Bear Lake will have my heart forever.The house is full of charm and comfort. The beds, pillows, and blankets were incredibly soft. We loved the porch and outdoor seating. The swimming area at the bottom of the steps was shallow and perfect for kids. The neighbors next door were so sweet and surprised us by bringing out their Lily Pad float for our children to play on! The kitchen was stocked, even included a drawer with aluminum foil, parchment paper, and Ziploc bags. Parking is limited but our Tahoe fit comfortably in the driveway. My kids loved climbing the tree out front and swinging on the little swing.Location-wise, it was perfect. Sleeping Bear Dunes and the charming towns of Glen Arbor Leland were only about an hour away, making for perfect day trips.If I had to mention one downside, it would be the living room setup. The couch was a bit small and not the most comfortable. I personally would have preferred a second sofa instead of the bed in that space. Also, there's only one TV in the house. While we’re used to having TVs in the bedrooms, having just one actually encouraged more family time—so it turned out to be a positive in disguise.Highly recommend staying here! You won’t be disappointed. "
