They also picked me up from the train station, and droped me off when I checked out. Overall the building's condition is new, clean and comfortable. It is only 10 minute walk to the fort. It's a shame i only spend a night out of 2 nights booked at the hotel. The exterior and sandstone interiors help in capturing the feel and aesthetics of Jaisalmer brilliantly (but would like to note that we also noticed most of the hotel 'havelis' have similar decor as well). The food in the upstairs cafe was decent but definitely could be improved upon. More food specialities known to Jaisalmer were missing from the menu which is prevalent in most other places and they are not very flexible with customisations to the food (eg. making scrambled eggs/oats with no diary and the such). The owner was very helpful and arranged for desert safari and it was an excellent experience. The rooftop restaurant served good food. The only complaint we had was the hygiene of the area right outside the hotel - there was garbage everywhere and pigs making merry in open sewage lines which made us very uncomfortable.
