The Villas of Amelia Island offers 238 air-conditioned accommodations, which are accessible via exterior corridors, and features a safe and coffee/tea makers. Rooms open to furnished balconies. This is our fourth annual trip to Amelia to attend the concourse, we stay at the villas every time, it’s quiet it’s clean. You have full access to the Omni itself in all of its facilities, and they have buses that take you to the concourse every day.

The villa was just a room and a bathroom. Most villas have a small kitchenette but this does not. The villa is the farthest you can get from the main resort, but that is actually kind of nice if you like privacy. There is a smaller pool which we thought was fantastic. The view of the ocean is spectacular and the beach walks are even better.

The Villas of Amelia Island is part of the Omni Resort, which is great because you can use the Omni amenities (pool, fitness, beach, etc.). The bad part, though, is that we were assigned a room in Turtle Dunes, which is the farthest villa from the main resort (over a mile away). They do have shuttle service throughout the result, which is relatively efficient, but it means you have to shuttle back and forth to the pool, beach, restaurants, etc. every time you want to do something, which takes a lot of time away from your vacation. Also, the food everywhere is very expensive, and so are the amenities, such as renting beach chairs, etc. That said, the room was nice, with a huge bathroom and a beautiful view, and that part of the resort was extremely quiet, even on a busy spring break week.

So while it is literally on the beach, the room is a little dated and doesn't get traditional turn down service, which would be nice. The space is small, but is doable. Value to price wasn't there for me. We'll probably stay in the main hotel next time.

The beach view from our villa was mostly obstructed. The listing showed a balcony, but our room was on the ground floor with a patio that had no lighting, making it unusable at night. The photos used for booking are misleading and do not accurately represent what you get. The resort includes multiple buildings with different types of villas, a hotel, and smaller units, but this is not clearly explained during booking—so you don’t really know which accommodations you’re reserving. There was no kitchen; however, we booked a double queen room (not a suite), so that part was acceptable. That said, the villa itself needs a thorough cleaning and updating. The common areas and building exterior also show a lack of maintenance and upkeep. Overall, the room did not feel worth the price we paid. That said, the resort itself has a lot to offer—we enjoyed the amenities, shops, dining options, views, pool, beach, and natural surroundings, especially riding around in the golf cart we rented. The hotel next to the villas was a highlight, with brunch, live music in the evenings, a large pool, great views, and a boardwalk to the beach. Access to these hotel amenities for villa guests was a definite plus.
