The first ight of our stay, we were kept awake half the night by someone shouting on the balcony. It got quiet enough for us to sleep for an hour or so before we were awoken again by a couple police knocking on a neighbor's door. They had followed him to the motel after a store was robbed. Two days later, there was a herd of police with someone in custody at the gas station across the street. Breakfast was limited and poor quality. The staff is friendly and there were repairs being made to the building, signs that the management was at least trying to keep the place somewhat respectable, but it made for a very unsettling experience during an already stressful week at the Mayo Clinic. The Clinic, by the way, is not nearly as close as one would imagine given the name of the motel.
