This quiet getaway is perfect for rest, tranquil relaxation, romance, reconnecting, or just a peaceful retreat while enjoying the sounds and views of the ocean just steps from your deck. \-This top floor south end unit is without distracting overhead noise (TV's, moving furniture, footsteps, etc). There is privacy on this side because this building was built close to the water and farther from the road keeping you away from traffic noise. \-The beach has private access away from public access beaches, and is without crowds. Captain's House sits on the quiet residential north end of Amelia Island away from the large crowded apartment complexes and hotels, yet it is less than 2 miles from the historic old town full of restaurants and shopping. \-The ocean views are unobstructed from every window, even while sitting or lying down in bed, because it is closer to the ocean than neighboring homes. Its southeast location allows in sunlight to fill 1 to 2 windows in each room from sunup to sundown (as opposed to north or middle units) from 1 to 2 windows in each room and lots of cross breezes and sounds of the pounding ocean. \-The breezy Beachfront Deck that overlooks the ocean is the first place you will go when you enter the condo. Use our binoculars to watch for turtles, submarines which depart from the north end of the island, dolphins, whales (Right Whales), surfers, kite boarders and more. Rest on comfy teak cushioned steamer chaise lounges, lay back and watch the stars as you listen to the sea. There are bistro tables for morning coffee, reading, or to enjoy the sunrises. A large umbrella is available for those who prefer afternoon shade. An outdoor dining table for 4 lies at the edge of the deck, perfect for candle or moon lit dinners. You will have a hard time finding a reason to leave this “room”. \-The furnished Harbor Side deck is perfect with acacia wood tropical seating for 5 for sunset cocktails. \-The open concept Kitchen in this newly remodeled condo with Brazilian hardwood natural cherry floors throughout is complete with a stunning 'Ocean” countertop created by a local artist made with epoxy resin “waves”. For preparing locally caught fresh fish, baking and preparing sunset cocktails, the pots, pans, dishes, utensils, cookbooks and cocktail glassware supplies are plentiful and at your disposal. We really enjoyed our stay at the Captain's House - it was in a great location (easy to access, well-maintained beachfront neighborhood) and it had the perfect view. Rain or shine, you could sit in the living room by the sliding glass door, sit on the deck or walk a few steps to the beach - hearing and seeing the waves was right there, just what we were looking for! This house is divided up into a 6-Plex or 6 condo unit type set up. This unit is on the 3rd floor on the end and there is no elevator; however the stairs are laid out nicely and easy to maneuver (my friend is in her 70s and she did fine; good hand rails). The unit has a well-supplied in all areas as the owners used to live there full-time I think (great artwork on the walls throughout). Beach chairs were supplied (in the guest bedroom closet) which was so nice to have available. I would book this place again without hesitation! ##### Caren C. Great view and home was nicely decorated with many kitchen accessories so there was no need to bring any utensils or pans for cooking unlike other homes which had the bare minimum. The condo was terrific! Clearly the host had tried to provide everything you could possibly need (both inside and for the beach) with many thoughtful touches. We normally stay in A3 but it was not available. C3 was great. It was very clean, which is a big factor for us. Easy code to gain access. Easy access to beach, even with current beach project going on. If I could give one piece of advice to owners, it would be to remove some of the clutter. Too much furniture in master limiting space for our things. But enjoyed all the seating in the living room.
