Hot tub, fireplace. Lakefront, with roomy, yet homey ambience! Spring bargains!!

Gorgeous, Inspirational, Lakefront home! Looking for a getaway to provide peace, with plenty of play opportunities? Take the time to look through all our photos and picture yourself in this setting.

You will love this 2,300+ square feet, two story, open layout home! It is situated facing south on an unshared 1/2 acre of land we call Turtle Point. Lakefront on three sides, its many deep windows provide spectacular views in every direction, every season. Located directly on a 66 acre, natural, quiet, great fishing lake, Turtle Point is delightful, and we have our own private beach area.

While best suited for 6-8 people, Turtle Point Lodge sleeps up to 12, with three private bedrooms and two queen sleeper sofas in the two separate living areas. There are two bathrooms, one on each level. Sparkling new kitchen is well furnished. Dining table can seat ten, and in addition, there are two barstools at the counter, or, more informally, use the tray tables.

You can spend your time here all to yourselves. (A common comment in our guest book is, "WE NEVER LEFT!") Or get out and enjoy the local activities. In the heart of the Irish Hills recreation area, our friendly towns are no strangers to tourists. Brooklyn and Tecumseh in particular have quaint, specialty shops, farmers markets, antiques, wineries, (One is just a half mile down the road!) parades, festivals and summer fun. Michigan International Speedway is only 3-4 miles away! This UNIQUE home and property are wonderful EVERY time of the year!!

New life awakens in the spring. Little traffic on our road makes it a good place to get out and take exploratory walks. You might see migrating swans and returning birds. Turtles begin to crawl out to bask in the sun and you can enjoy the hot tub. We now have a floating DIVING AND FISHING PLATFORM! It's hard to find this large a lot on a lake! No close neighbors to bother, or to bother YOU!

Summers are perfect here at the lake. You may wish to book for 2024 season soon, as our summer weeks go fast. We have a large, sandy beach area with shallows for the kids. Large yard play areas for family sports - ladder golf and bag toss provided. We have many beach chairs, both Adirondack and cloth chairs, picnic table, benches and a glider, even children's chairs. Paddleboat, 6 kayaks, rowboat, sand/beach toys and life preservers are on-site. We can rent you a pontoon and/or Captain Neil is sometimes available to host pontoon rides or for campfire crooning! You may also bring your own small boat or jet-ski.

Fall offers the changing colors with an edge of summer activities and the ability to hunker down and watch the weather! A crisp fall day still brings lots of opportunities to find a spot in the warm sun, out of the breeze. The lake is an ever-changing panorama of migrating birds or other wildlife. If you are a hunter, there are many acres of State Land nearby. And you will want to go to Knutson's in Brooklyn for your hunting or fishing needs and to see the "buck pole" on opening day of hunting season! If you have never been to Cabela's, it is an experience itself, about 45 minutes away for a rainy day. Campfires with s'mores are perfect anytime, and there is always the 5-person hot tub to enjoy!

Winter is beautiful, watching the weather from the warmth and coziness of your home. You might want to think about celebrating a holiday or special occasion where you can gather a good-sized group. You can sit back and watch it snow from the comfort of home, or you can sled and slide on the ice, or watch (or be!) an ice fisherman. Can you imagine sitting in the hot tub on the deck, directly under the stars? You can even be served in an igloo at a local winery.

Night Lights at MIS is a spectacular show, fun for the family - Thanksgiving thru Jan. 7 - a 6-mile drive-thru! Make popcorn, watch a good movie (large selection of DVDs) or sports program, and/or play some family games - Bingo, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, Junga, Family Charades, etc.

Turtle Point loves to host special events! We have had family groups from all over, a book club, 10 men from an extended family, prayer group, anniversary celebration, 6 sisters, golf outing, even a wedding! You might want to consider hosting your family over a holiday at this large, lovely, very clean home!

There is no off-season to this beautiful property! Hot tub, campfire, leisure spaces anytime! Huge TVs, comfy seating and gas fireplace make the living area so homey, while the deep windows let you look out at the lake in comfort. The beautiful, new, full kitchen, again with lake view, provides a great place for cooking and eating. When searching for your dream vacation getaway, be sure you are comparing apples to apples! Read our 5-star reviews!

Please note: sorry, but for everyone’s peace of mind, we are not allowing pets, and no smoking is allowed in the house. Many perks not listed - like the natural gas grill on deck for all-season use, big 68" and 58" TVs. Firewood provided for your campfire.

This home is great for the nature lover - beauty, peace, relaxation. Even with 12 people you can find a quiet spot! Old-fashioned screened-in sitting porch, deck area to enjoy a cup of coffee on a quiet morning, beach, a special shaded alcove, upper deck, campfire, under a shade tree - you choose. You can fish right off the dock, great for kids and children at heart! Indoor and outdoor games, books, DVDs, desk area and WiFi available for your entertainment or work needs if you must. Choose your favorite season and book now, up to a year ahead.

One of our recent reviews: “Amazing Family Vacation at Turtlepoint Lodge!
Me, my husband and 5 kids choose a different vacation house to rent in Michigan each summer. This home is by far our favorite! The house, property, and lake blew us away the moment we walked in. The house is huge with many places to relax away from the group. It is immaculately clean and has everything you would need to enjoy your stay. The owners are very kind and helpful. We enjoyed our family time so much here, the kids are begging to stay here every summer from now on. We feel beyond blessed and will carry these memories forever. Thank you for everything!”

FYI NOTE: We have installed an air scrubber with ActivePure Technology in both zones of the heating/cooling ducts to create a cleaner, healthier living environment. Their ads say it kills over 99% of viruses, mold, and bacteria on surfaces as well as in the air!
Opening in August of 2021, we have met all the criteria to become VRBO Premier Hosts! In our first two years, we have had over 100 guests, and people have been generous with their raving 5 STAR reviews. Check us out.

Peace and Quiet at the Lake
Turtle Point Lodge is an excellent place to spend a quiet weekend. It was made for spending quality time with friends and time away from screens. The house was great, loved the area and the lake, and spent time at some local restaurants. Thanks, Gail!

Wonderful Getaway
Visited with some friends over the holidays to get in some late-year hiking and get away from the mundane stuff. It was well articulated for rules, well furnished and stocked for household needs. No complaints for the property that wasn't discussed and handled with the owner. We couldn't even use much of the options since so much is available on the water and we were there during winter. Would definitely consider this spot again next time we visit the area!

Beautiful home
The home was beautiful and spacious. The beds were comfortable. The only downside was the age of the furniture. It was on the shabby side and I felt like I stepped into the 1970s. The couch in the living room was not very comfortable. And there were portions of the couch where you just sink in.

Beautiful Property, Beautiful Host
I gifted my husband with a NASCAR racing experience at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, and we chose this property to stay in while we were in town. Another couple came with us, and the four of us had plenty of space to tool around in. We enjoyed the lake view, and lazily pontooning around in the lake in the afternoons. We also made good use of the outdoor hot tub. As fortune would have it, I got word that my best friend died, the morning we were supposed to check out. I relayed the news to our host, Gail, and she willingly accepted us as guests for another night, so that we could collect ourselves. She did not charge us. I don't know what else to say other than I like staying in the homes of good-hearted people. And I'd stay again.

Family wedding
Our stay at Gails place was exceptional. We appreciated how close to our wedding venue in Brooklyn. Everyone thought her place was beautiful and comfortable. We truly enjoyed the hot tub. The kids were able to use the kayaks. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of linen. We appreciated a downstairs bedroom for my family members. Thank you Gail for an exceptional stay. My family and I truly enjoyed your place for four nights. We hope to return for a more relaxing week next year and explore the local places. I love the wine..Summer Breeze one of my new favorites ❤️ thanks so much The Clarks

Summer Family Stay
Loved everything about this place! Everything we needed was provided, so nice to not have to think about the little things - they thought of everything! We used the grill, the kayaks, the paddle boat, the hot tub, the toys, the firepits, the campchairs, and even rented the pontoon :). The screened porch was our favorite space, and the kitchen and dining area were perfect for eveything from our quick snacks for the kids, to all sitting down for our family dinners. Easy check in and out and we can't wait to come back!
