Nice people running it, but this place was quite disappointing. Small rooms. We found several human hairs hanging on the towel rack in the bathroom. First night no bath towels and no blankets. Small, weak air conditioning that eventually operated effectively, but it took quite a while. Breakfast was a part of the room rate, and the breakfast was also unimpressive. It was not fresh...poor quality food. I think they found the cheapest vendor they could find and served it. We were there for three mornings and felt like we had to go out every morning to get a decent breakfast. Even just for a decent cup of coffee. The only thing this hotel was good for was sleeping (once the A/C got up to speed). The rest of the experience was cheap and sub-par. Like I said, nice people, but they don't know how to run a hotel.

hello, when you come to the hotel you have received a standard room and we have given a deluxe room instead of the standard room. If you didn't know you were in, you would eat and drink alcohol every evening. entrance did not tell you 1 turkish male + 1 foreign lady (we did not get in the reservation), on the 3rd day at night at 22:00 you wrote a message to the hotel's e-mail address, hello I came, my room did not like and hours We came for breakfast at 10:29, because there wasn't much. I got you there to help you with the staff you got in the room that you bought (pictures one by one) but that's the room we gave. Then you came to have sex in our hotel family hotel, if you tell us this, I did not receive you and did not reply. You got out the next day, and this is your fault, it's not our fault. breakfast closing time of 10:00 summer time you come, not that late and the staff would not help if he does not talk to. If you did, we'd help. therefore we do not know how to refund the payment. if you didn't exit the mold properly.

The staff were very nice. Mustafa the front desk manager was very helpfull. Had a great time. Room at the additional property were not ready for occupancy. Mold in mattress. Shower and sink Brocken. Main building rooms were nice.

The hotel is not like you see it on the site
Except the breakfast which was good, the staff were kind, but at the reception one of them was rough. The room was very small and not confortable.

we liked it but with some critics
My girlfriend liked it a lot. But we had some critics. The room was too small in comparison with the photos in the website. I guess they have used some photoing technique to show the room larger than what it is. It cause raising of your expectation from the hotel with luxury equipment. First they gave us a room that it was too small. when I asked for another one they give me bigger one that it was OK. There is no elevator, and for the top floor, you may find yourself in difficulty to go there. But I prefer top floor scene to sea which was good and gives good feeling. The staffs were really kind and the receptionist talks English well. They have shuttle to Ataturk airport that costs only 5 Euro per person. Rooms are very comfort and clean.I liked the cleaners a lot. They do cleaning whenever you want even when it is too late. TV does not show good quality of pictures. Breakfast options is not good. I saw better options in Istanbul even in hostels!! But it was OK generally.One of the receptionist told me that coffee and tea is not free. Normally hotels have coffee maker in rooms. I asked for a boiler and they gave me one. You may ask to have it if you are interested. I had very good days in this hotel. All critics are because I paid quiet a lot for this hotel and photos cause much expectations before going there. In conclusion, by keeping the above critics in your mind, I recommend the hotel to you.

A good hotel, well located
Kupeli Palace is located in a very tradicional neighborhood, very calm. It's about 15 minutes walk to go SultanAhmet park and blue mosque. Staff is ok.

The hotel was disspaointing styed in Room 304 door could not open from inside had to contact reception to open up everytime safety hazard,could only be fixed hopefully next day.Moved next day to a room fit for a single bed,waas way too small and tight could not move around in it,room 303,Televeision did not work,advised them could only be fixed next day,next day advised repair could only come 3pm,when we returned tv removed not replaced.Breakfast ok nothing extraordinary.Room from view old delapidated houses with screeching birds from 5am in the sky in the morning.houses in fromnt of hotel some old and need major renovation looks ready for demolition. Did not feel completely safe walking around in the neighbourhood going out for supper,since some streets very eerie and looked unsafe

Small budget hotel
The hotel staff was the highlight. Very friendly and accommodating. The biggest problem for us was expectations: In the description and photos, the hotel presents itself as some sort of luxury hotel, with modern facilities. In reality, however, it is a very low budget, cheap hotel, maybe one or two steps above a youth hostel. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable, but thats about it. For example, the rooms are extremely small. Our suitcases wouldn't even fit into our first room so we called Expedia and demanded a change. The next room was not much bigger but at least we could lay down our suitcases and open them. The hotel itself is in a bit of a sketchy neighbourhood with lots of stray cats and lights on at night. The breakfast was also substandard with a lot being offering but all very low quality (not fresh at all). Finally, the finishings in the room are very old and broken. Our shower door was broken, the toilet seat loose and just general cracks in the wall and such. So overall, not a positive stay.

Nice hotel 20 minutes walk to Sultan Ahmet
When I first arrived I was put in room 301. This is not a nice room. The day after I was moved to a room in the new extension. This was a nice room. Breakfast needs to have more varieties. The only available drink was orange concentrates which has a medicinal aftertaste. They should include proper fresh juices. The TV reception was bad. They also need to add a list of English channels to make them easy to find. Every room needs an iron and an ironing board instead of asking reception for one when one needs it. But all in all for the price the hotel is good and the staff are always helpful and cheerful.

Hotel Experience in Istanbul
We arrived at hotel around 10 pm and they told us they put us in a different hotel which was a lower quality accommodation as I paid for my room in advanced. We moved to the hotel next day and they accommodated us for the rest of trip. Stuff were very helpful and room was clean. The breakfast wasn't as we expected as some stuff was old like jams, honey. We didn't have TV reception for whole time so we couldn't get the news or weather information. We lost water in one morning when I was in shower for over 20-30 min. and when the water resumed, it was muddy. The water pressure was low in shower head all the time. The water was really hot and water temp was changing so fast, I burned myself couple of times. The place was close to attractions but in bottom of hill we needed to walk up for 1/2 mile or so and didn't see any metro station close by. We had a good experience in Istanbul over all.but having access to metro from hotel is important if you have problem for walking up hills.

nice good hotel
i spent my first days of honeymoon at kupeli palace most interesting thing is the staff members specially cagri and yilmaz they are really nice and helpful guys the price is a little expensive in comparison to the overall quality but the location is really strategic at the first day i was given small room but they replaced it when i asked for that " not all the rooms are 20m"

Very nice hotel with very friendly staff
Very helpful staff, always willing to give information, help you or make you laugh! Cozy rooms, clean. The only thing that could be improved is breakfast - it is the same every day. But I would definately go back.

Good hotel in good location
Our stay at the hotel was really good. The staff were brilliant and friendly and were able to help us with information about the local areas and sights to see. The rooms were slightly smaller than expected but we were happy with how clean and comfortable they were.

walking fistance to Blue Mosque
Overall pretty good place. At the bottom of a hill so be prepared to walk. Can take public transit to airport if you walk up the hill.

cozy hotel, nice staff
The hotel was not what I expected at the first glance. They didn't give us the rooms I had reserved at arrival. Later they switched the rooms and we felt much better. There is a little yard with a few chairs and tables which offered a homey ambiance we enjoyed the most. The staff were nice and friendly. Overall we enjoyed our time there.

Near Old Town Landmarks
Although a bit off the beaten path, Kupeli Palace Hotel was a perfectly reasonable place to stay. To reach the main sights In Istanbul, you had to climb a long hill, which was fine, but something to think about for older travelers. Also, there was no elevator in the hotel and the stairs were fairly narrow, so getting up and down might be a problem for some; though a porter took the bags up to the room. There were no restaurants right near the hotel, but there were several along the up hill climb or near the main attractions, which were not too far away (about 10 - 15 minutes by foot). There was free wifi in the room as well as free bottled water; other drinks were available for a small cost. The staff was always very nice.

Nice hotel close to historal istanbul
Hotel is well situated being close to all the sights in the old part of town. The hotel itself is quite nice, decorated in a lovely manner, clean, and updated. Beds are comfortable. Breakfasts unfortunately are a little ordinary and there is no lift, so if you are on a higher floor it can be a bit of painful climb at the end of long day sightseeing. Also, I had emailed the hotel almost a week prior to arrival that we needed a room on a lower floor for the first night as my mother has problem with her knee as she had a knee replacement and unfortunately even though they said that they would do their best, they put us in a triple room on the third floor when there were triple rooms on the ground floor, so I thought it was pretty slack on their part. After, the first night my mother left and we changed rooms and they did upgrade us, so they redeemed themselves, though I was pretty upset to see that they had triple rooms on lower floors. I think staff need to be a little more careful when they plan the room allocations especially when they are told that someone may have a physical difficulty

We enjoyed the quality and comfort of our stay at the Kupeli Palace. It was within walking distance to many historic and popular attractions so it was a great place to stay!

Cheap, Clean and Cheerful Kupeli Palace Hotel
Kupeli Palace Hotel is a great hotel to stay at. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a double room, which had enough room for us, TV, air conditioning, a mini bar, was cozy, clean and the hotel cleaners came daily to tidy the room (they even came later in the day when requested). The breakfast buffet is good, full of variety, you'll find food that you like and it will be enough to last you past lunchtime. With regards to facilities, we did not use their spa (nor did we see anyone else use it), but it looked very nice and clean. There is also free wifi across the hotel or a spare computer to use in the reception, both of which were veru useful. The location is a few minutes walk, 5-10 mins away from the Blue Mosque, and you're only a 5 minute walk away from other amenities, such as a local park with a fountain, local shops and bars; additionally you're also 5-10mins walk from the Grand Bazaar area, but far enought not to hear any noise. Overall I would recommend Kupeli Palace Hotel if you are looking for somewhere that is safe, clean and tidy, where you can rest your head during the morning to explore the rest of Istanbul.

Pretty little hotel
I must say that I was a bit deceived by the pictures that were in the website. The rooms were much smaller and less grand than the pictures claim them to be. But the rooms were clean and the service were good. I really like the buffet breakfast. The place was about 20mins walk from all the major attractions but I didn't find that as much of a hassle. Stayed for only one night so didn't get to know many of the staff, but all of them were friendly enough.

Very homey
Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and sweet. We felt comfortable asking for anything we needed, and it was pretty easy to get around to all the attractions from our home base.

Poor service, extremely small rooms
The Kupeli Palace rooms are small, bathrooms are even smaller, and most inconvenient. And the front office staff is rather unaccomodating. The shower and mini-bar were not working. It was a small B&B experience and not a 4* hotel experience. There is no garden or garden restaurant and bar as promised on their website. Also, the location is a long uphill walk to the Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque. The distances mentioned on their website are all very very misleading.

Great intimate hotel
We arrived late at night, and were given a great welcome with hot coffee and tea. The room was lovely, I am only sorry that we had only one night. Breakfast was excellent and abundant, with so many choices. Everyone was helpful. I found this hotel on the internet and it was a real "find". I definitely recommend it to all.

Not a Palace but a nice hotel
Lovely little hotel in a residential area but close to the ancient sites with very good staff who were always keen to help you out and a nice buffet breakfast. Rooms in need of a bit of tlc though - peeling paper, damp smell and bulb out in bedside lights. Would still recommend and use again.
