This was one of those places that is a pleasant surprise, not because of anything major, but because everything is done well, and without fuss or annoyance. The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive or overbearing, the hotel is clean and well maintained in both private and public areas. The food is good and the location is convenient for both local facilities and travel further afield.

A fantastic and spotlessly clean hotel. We stayed here for a week at the start of March. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best, which meant the rooftop bar and pool area was closed for the first couple of days. Despite the weather, Olhao is a lovely little town with enough bars and restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel. We hired a car to explore the area and towards the Spanish border, and we were always able to find a free parking space in the surrounding streets around the...

This Hotel is a family run business with a focus on hospitality and friendliness.
The room was adequate for what we wanted but was old fashioned with a small balcony.
Everything else about this hotel was exceptional, the pool area, the breakfast, the cuisine all 5 star.
Then you walk out of the pool area into the very well kept gardens and the ponds. Within the ponds you find an array of friendly turtles, if you remember to take a few slices of bread from the breakfast table these turtles...

Lovely stay with all the comforts but there was a mix up as we went to check out, i went to settle a bar bill and was presented with a full bill for the accommodation as well as the bar bill. The accommodation had previously been paid at the time of booking.

Great hotel in a residential rather than tourist area within easy walking distance of the historic town. The hotel itself is within the Ria Shopping Centre on the 2nd floor with lift access and is very modern and clean. Good breakfast and free hot drinks available throughout the day. Would recommend.

All the staff were charming and exceptionally helpful. Rooms and communal areas were immaculately clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable with new mattresses. Airport Transfers were arranged for us and reasonably priced. The driver was a friendly character too.

Oh my goodness, myself and my husband cannot rate this hotel highly enough. It is pure perfection. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, the food, ambiance and hotel/room was more than perfect. There is absolutely nothing negative to say. Thank you so much for for a fantastic stay. We will definitely be back!

Just returned from another lovely stay at Vila Gale. All staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We were given a river view room with a lovely aspect overlooking the ferry and boats on the river. There was plenty of variety at breakfast and great to sit outside in the sunshine. We made good use of the shuttle bus to take us into town ... unfortunately it still doesn't run on Monday or Tuesday . Ferries to the wonderful Terra Estreita beach were very always on...

Perfect hotel for overnight stay close to Faro Airport. We landed close to midnight and walked to the hotel in 10 minutes. Clean rooms, comfy beds, breakfast and pool then checkout at noon. Great place.

The best time to visit Armona Island is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from May to June and September to October.
These months offer pleasant weather with warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine, great for enjoying the island's beaches and outdoor activities. You'll find the island less crowded than the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience. The sea temperatures are also very inviting for swimming during these periods.
For those looking for the warmest weather and a more energetic atmosphere, July and August are also excellent, though the island will be at its busiest. During these months, you'll find all the island's cafes and restaurants fully operational, and there are often local events and activities. However, accommodation prices can be higher, and it's best to book well in advance.
