"The rooms are cheap, but set your expectations. This facility is more of a hostel for divers, not a hotel. Our room was dirty and not well maintained. The floor was dirty when we arrived, and the bathroom mirror was never cleaned during our entire stay. The light switch in the bathroom was broken. The main light in the room hung down by a wire from the ceiling. And we couldn't plug anything in by the bed because the plugs would fall out of the socket. The door to the room was so warped we could barely lock it. Additionally, the deadbolt had to be locked with a key, even from the inside. From a safety standpoint, this means you wouldn't be able to get out quickly in an emergency. The rest of this info will help you decide if this place is for you: Check-in was slow. They require a handwritten sheet of information for every person. Since everyone arrived on the ferry at the same time, it took a while. The beds in the rooms had only sheets, with no blankets. The bathroom had two towels but no washcloths or hand towels. There was a wall dispenser for soap. Bring your toiletries! Breakfast was included with the reservation, but we only ate there once. It wasn't great, but it would work if you are in a hurry. The best thing about this place is its location. It's close enough to town to walk, but not right on the main road."

"We had a great stay here. Perfect sized space, good a/c when needed, sheltered breeze by the ocean to beat the heat, close to town - having a scooter made it easier. Comfy bed, ice and water ready for us on arrival and as needed. Our host Blanca, was excellent to communicate with, very responsive and met us at the Ferry and arranged our departure as well. Very well run all around, would stay again. Thank you."

"This was the perfect location for our first visit to Utila. Ann was quickly communicative with me after booking, and the property manager Lijia was phenomenal. She answered any and all of our questions and made the stay incredibly easy. The property was beautiful and quiet - it was about a 25 minute walk into town. The ocean views from the front deck were incredible. Our favourite part of the property was the pool, shaded in the mornings with sun in the afternoons. It was the perfect way to cool down. Highly recommend this property!"

"We loved our stay at Turtle Beach Sanctuary. It was very private, quiet, and felt very upscale. Beautiful views and atmosphere. You will definitely want to plan ahead for transportation and your food/meals as it is a bit remote. That being set right into town with a golf cart or less with a scooter. We really would have liked a little bit larger fridge and kitchen but we knew and we would have so it’s what we expected. Love the outdoor areas and amenities that were available. It’s a little bit disappointing. You can’t go right out into the ocean due to all the rocks and searching, but it was a wonderful view. Definitely be sure to bring lots of sunscreen and lots of bug spray. Cliff was the property manager that came out to help us with check-in and helped us with our luggage. He went out of his way several times to make sure we were comfortable and to help us with the things we needed. He was absolutely awesome. We really loved our stay and would definitely return."

"Beautiful property in the most beautiful area of the island. Coral Ridge House has been impeccably designed inside and out with great detail. Fully stocked kitchen, bottled water, purified ice, comfortable beds and bedding. Plush towels. Great snorkeling and scuba diving right outside the backyard.Walking distance to everything you need. Two great places to eat very near and everything else within .5 - 1.5 miles.You are greeted at the ferry by the host manager with all logistics arranged. A very inexpensive tuk tuk ride over the bridge and you’re at your home away from home. If you’re lucky enough to meet the hosts and you’re a dog lover, you won’t want to leave! Utila is fabulous little island with great people, great food and a great vibe. It is a divers paradise but you don’t need to be a diver to enjoy. Be sure to rent a golf cart or quad and explore the island. You can also walk everywhere. If you’re open to it you’ll meet people and likely make friends.We most definitely will be back!
